Nice figure, though painful

I found this build to be repetitive, and the fact that the structure is mainly two colors made this somewhat boring to build. In addition, the similar shapes of some of the smaller blue angled pieces of the draped dress were at times infuriating.
I know I mis-placed a piece or two, but swear that even if I’d built this 100% correctly the statue part itself should never be touched or even dusted. Too many pieces want to pop off, including the crown and the striding leg due to too-few connection points in some areas. This is probably exacerbated by the interior connector rods between the base and the statue which I think are made to emulate the fact that the statue itself could sway minimally in windy conditions.
Having said all this, it’s a nice representation, albeit without a face. I’m not bummed I built it :)

There are five stages to this build.
All was well up to the fifth stage. The fifth stage consists of largely small parts. There have been four pieces missing to complete the build. Very frustrating. And I do mean frustrating.

Great for 5.5 year old, really fun build

This was a really fun building experience for my 5.5 year old. The instructions were easy to follow, the base was super fun and sturdy, the base detailing looks awesome.
The body of the statue was also very fun to build and I think it was designed well, it is just the right difficulty.
The face is just a blank piece, this stands out and probably should have been better. The fire is the same as a Minifigure hair, but it looks good to us.
We were missing 1 piece and had two wrong pieces.
Overall I would recommend it, we enjoyed the build. My son built 95% of it, I had to take the body apart twice to fix it because he was a piece off, so we both got to enjoy the build.

The set is pretty good it got a little tricky sometimes, but I like tricky i liked the details of the seven spikes on the crown the green handcuffs on the set, representing the broken shackles and chains on the real statue and the statues left leg. That is very similar to her actual model. In new york city it's pretty good.
There is some room for improvement with her face and her tablet, but overall, it's pretty impressive. For a lego set pretty solid,

Showpiece!

Exceptional design and a great build with creative techniques. Scale & size are very impressive for the Architecture series. Lego has done it again and designed a true showpiece perfect for any living room or office!

Great looking statue, face is a let down however.

The build of the pedestal is very repetitive and wasn’t really fun as everything had to be done 4 times because it’s 4 sides. However, it’s very detailed, even the statue. The folds in the clothes, the crown, the right leg, the torch, all very nice, except for the face, which is a let down, being just one shield piece. Swapped some of the parts from the back of the dress to get the face more convex and the T-shape between the pieces suggest brow and centerline of face. The chin is subtly squared off, which is better. It’s not a huge improvement, but it’s better. I’ve seen other mods that give the face a nose, but it looks like a Moai head statue, lol.

Perfect proportions and lots of detail

I love New York City and had always regretted not having purchased the original Statue of Liberty set back in 2002 when I was working there, but to be honest I think this set is better and although much smaller than the previous one it looks more accurate and also features the stone pedestal which is beautifully detailed, particularly the quoins down the corners. The use of the incised brick pattern 2x1 bricks really adds to the fine detail and clever off setting of the levels of the pedestal give it a fine profile. There's a bit of repetition, the elements are so small you quickly put them together, though they are fiddly for bigger fingers. You need to pay attention when making some of the folding fabric sections and there are a lot of left and right handed 2x1 curved sections so I'd suggest sorting them out first. One minor thing is the lack of Lady Liberty's face, but a 'dreaded sticker' in this instance would have been inappropriate. It's a lovely set and an impressive height.

It looks really nice, a great display piece

I saw this was available and felt it would make a great addition to the growing Lego display of places around the world.
I think it should have had a sticker with Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. It really does need that.
This is a really nice set and I have it by my door welcoming people to my home.
