2023 STILL SLEEP/WAKE ISSUES

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is pretty embarrassing for a laptop that originally cost 1800+. The sleep function does not work. I close the lid, wake it up a few hours later, and all I get is a pulsating power light and pressing it does nothing. I have to preform a hard shutdown and lose all my files then power it back on. I have done everything from clean installs to multiple technicians visiting to multiple depot repairs and my laptop still has the exact same issue. Even after every clean install, BIOS update, Chipset driver update, you name it, it's been done and this one basic fundamental feature is still broken to this day. I've been reporting the same issue over and over again from day 1 when I got this laptop and yet again still no fix. It doesn't even seem like the people at Lenovo even care. Because of this, I'm going to have to recommend against this laptop and probably any other laptops they have in the future.

Good laptop but poor battery life.

This laptop is otherwise good, with a respectable screen, good performance. Keyboard is a bit flat and not the quality of other Thinkpad keyboards, but still quite usuable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Terrible battery life and reliability

In addition to even the highest end spec (Ryzen 7 Pro, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD) ending with a tiny battery which only provides 3-4 hours of run time, mine is very unreliable. Issues:
1) Often will not wake from sleep
2) Bluetooth radio completely vanishes at random. If you check device manager you can only see it if showing hidden devices. Restart doesn't fix it, requires a shutdown and power back on.
3) Sometimes when I unplug the power adapter it instantly turns off, even though the battery is fully charged
4) Sometimes it won't power on until I insert the AC adapter, again, even though the battery is charged.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited when I first saw the availability of this model. It was advertised with 86WH or 52WH battery based on configuration. I chose the one with the highest configuration in terms of screen, memory (32GB), storage (1TB), and believed I would be getting the 86WH variant. At that time it was too new to have any review, but I trust Lenovo especially with the ThinkPad brand to be with top notch quality, so even though it says ships in 2 months I still happily ordered.
Upon receiving it, the build quality is totally great. I like the screen especially, and it seems to be of similar quality to my Legion 5 Pro with Ryzen 5800 w/ RTX3070, which is excellent but too heavy for road, and hence the purchase of this P16s. However I soon discovered the battery life is too short. I intentionally picked this model over anything with a dedicated video card so I can bring it on the road. Unfortunately the power died on my trip from DC to NY on the train, for a merely 3 hrs travel.
Then I realized this one came with the very small 52WH battery. After many reviewers posted the same concern, I saw Lenovo's website now removed all 86WH battery references and just 52WH across the board. I think this is a very strange decision on Lenovo's side. At one hand you have a very nice laptop that checks every single box, with a light weight to fit a road worrier's need. At the other hand it's equipped with a super small battery that did not survive a 3 hours trip. I have to be honest that I would not have bought this if I have known it will only be shipped with 52WH battery. I considered returning it but I do like the unit. At the end of day, I use it for regular things, and on business trip I had to carry extra battery which negate the saving of the weight. Or I had to bring the 3 years old Dell XPS which always gave me over 6 hours.
I think Lenovo should do the right thing to swap the battery for those purchaser who ordered the top trim during the time it was advertised with 86WH battery. For the purchases made after the spec was changed to 52WH only then they knew what they will be getting. Not us when we thought we will be getting the 86WH ones. It's similar to buy a car which advertises with either 5LV8 or 2LI4 engines. When the buyer happily to go with the top trim, only to find that ALL CARS ARE EQUIPPED WITH THE 2L 4 CYLINDER ENGINE. Yes, that's exactly how it feels.
Otherwise, this is such a great laptop. I didn't try the gaming performance because I have already the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro for that. This is strictly for business and when plugged in, the performance is truly top notch.

Misleading specs, 86kwhr battery

I ordered this on the 86kwhr battery advertisement. From the final released specs, I will be returning this. I cancelled the order before it was shipped but Lenovo told me they can't cancel for some reason. I guess I have to pay to send it back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
