Mostly great, deal breaking wake from sleep

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mostly good, one major problem that seems universal to the platform. The laptop refuses to wake from sleep (after being in sleep mode for a few hours) requiring a force reboot by holding the power button. This problem seems to be slightly mitigated by completely disabling Hibernation, but I can't even say for sure as I've been battling this since day one. Multiple fresh operating system installs, newest drivers, etc.
Commenting online this appears to be a common problem. It's hard to believe Lenovo would let something this obviously broken (the laptop has to be forcefully rebooted every single day) slip through; even on a new model.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Rytr is the best app I've found for writing! It's really easy to use and has really good AI writing. I've never been more satisfied with a writing app.
After hearing about Rytr on the radio, I knew I had to try it. I love just how easy and seamless it is to use. It's like having your own personal writing assistant. The writing just flows and the interface is really intuitive. I'm so glad I found this app!

I like it. To Linux users: Fedora36 works great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a web developer and I find this laptop confortable to work with. I'm upgrading from a Lenovo Flex 5 (2017, i5 8th gen) and this laptop is significantly faster (compiling is much, much faster), although the boot time is slower than I expected. This laptop also feels sturdier and the hinges have no wobble. Hinges were terrible in my previous laptop.
About the keyboard: I don't use the numpad and I would have preferred a larger keyboard, but still the size is fine. Home and End keys usually require me to look at the keyboard, which didn't happen on my previous laptop as these functions were accessed through Fn+Arrow keys.
The 1980x1200 screen is gorgeous. Colors look great and it gets pretty bright.
The BIOS menu is incredible. It has many options and is very easy to use.
On Windows everything works as expected, as this laptop is designed for that OS.
Gaming is absolutely possible. I tried Crysis Warhead and I got framerates between 40 and 60 fps. Left 4 Dead worked like a charm.
Battery life is fine, but don't expect it to be like macOS. It charges pretty fast too.
Speakers are... not great. But they get the job done.
The webcam is far better than my previous one.
The Wi-Fi chip is awesome and works well with most Linux distributions (it didn't work in the latest version of Manjaro though).
To Linux users, I recommend Fedora. It works great, even suspending the laptop seems to work fine.
On Kubuntu and KDE Neon the internal microphone didn't work, but it did work fine in Fedora.
Obviously hardware support tends to improve overtime in Linux.
I barely heard the fan while on Linux, but on Windows I heard it more often. The sound is slightly high-pitched but it doesn't bother too much.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one of the best options to get Radeon 680M graphics currently available. It runs Ubuntu and my entire Steam library smoothly. The WQXGA calibrated display option is amazing.

NONE of the configurations have a 86wh battery

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just opened the box and fully charged the device to find out that on max charge I can only get 3 hours of web browsing, which is disappointing. I was under the impression that I would get an 86wh battery as it was advertised as having but I only got the 52wh battery. Getting only 3 hours of battery on a computer like this is a complete joke. I paid for the highest spec configuration and that only had a 52wh battery. This is just such a shame.

Good build, bad power controls
on August 23, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought 4 of these units for a small business deployment. The build quality is great... (except for the repair guy breaking the screen and not getting a replacement after a month) but the biggest downfall is the power controls. Whatever power controls Lenovo uses are way too aggressive. Examples of aggressive power controls.
1. after hibernation/sleep the computer wakes up with it's sound card missing until a reboot.
2. The Bluetooth adapter contstantly goes missing after hibernation. Sometimes a reboot doesn't bring it back. I got a motherboard replacement (which the tech broke the screen) and it still didn't fix the problem. I ended up telling all USB and Bluetooth devices to not be allowed control for power and it fixed the issue.
3. Sometimes when docked and waking up the graphics will display to the external monitors, but the onboard display will never turn on requiring a reboot.
If Lenovo could fix the extreme poewr control it would be a great unit.

Lenovo dishonest about battery life.
on July 30, 2022
Posted by: Vance Johnson McGill III
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like the other reviewers, I was misled to believe the battery had 86 watts. The battery life is very bad, my old T470 lasts 3 to 4 times longer than this computer on a single charge. Very disappointing that you guys chose to cheap out on the battery for what would otherwise be an excellent laptop.
