Most disappointing appliance purchase ever

Oh goodness, where do I start, with the litany of reasons this is the most hated appliance I have ever had?
First off, I have to say the 4.5+ star reviews this has received HAS to be bogus. There is NO WAY people can be pleased with this oven-I think Frigidaire is filtering reviews to send to their retailers-bc this was one of the highest reviewed products I saw in my lengthy pre-purchase research.
First-design features:
1) Since there is no back panel there is a 1” gap between the back of the stove and the wall that looks awful.
2) Along the whole back there is a crevice between the cooktop and fan that gathers crumbs—difficult to clean.
3) The knobs!! At first I thought how pretty the blue glow back lighting was behind the front panel knobs. Let me tell you, the lighting makes it impossible to read the number settings!! I have to put on my glssses, get down and squint to read what setting the knobs are on. This is a horrible design feature that detracts, not adds to the functionality-and it’s impossible to turn off the backlight. Also the poor printing on the knobs seems like it would wear off over time so you’d never know what setting you are on.
Functionality:
1) The oven fails to keep a constant temperature. There is a 20-40° variance below the set temp while baking and roasting- whether in convection mode or not. Even when the oven door has not been opened, the temp will drop those 20-40° in the middle of a normal bake or even after preheat before I have put anything in the oven. This causes me to have to adjust the oven to a higher temp simply to get the oven to 350°. Then my baked goods seem to come out under or overdone. That makes baking a crapshoot.
2)Once a burner on top stayed VERY hot, even after having been turned off for 40 min. As in it burnt my hand hot. And the “warm zone” in back was also burning hot, even when that feature was not turned on.
3)You cannot turn the oven light off after you have turned off the oven-so I have to press 3 times to turn the oven back on, turn the light off, then turn the oven off again. Not a huge deal but just stupid product design!
4)I used the temp probe on Xmas day to finish cooking some thick filets. I wanted to take them out at 125° to come up to temp while resting, for medium rare. The oven requires you to choose a temp over 135° (or 140°? I can’t remember) to use the probe!! So I had to stand there and watch the temp reach 125° and take them out. I tested the temp with my digital thermometer, and it registered 108°!!
Appearance
1)A scratch resistant cooktop was a prerequisite to choosing a range for me. Upon FIRST use, even while being careful, scratches appeared. Now after 6 months there are stains that can’t be removed, scratches all over the cooktop and on the stainless edge. Plus the cooktop takes going over 4-5 times after each use to remove grease and get it streak-free!! I have tried so many products-Dawn, Windex, cooktop polish, etc and the recommended oil and vinegar in a spray bottle. And even when I’m done it’s not 100% streak free. It’s so disappointing. My 18 year old oven that this one replaced was able to have a shiny top after a quick clean, every time. And minimal scratches and stains!
I’ve had this oven 6 months. I will now have to arrange for a repairman to come out and try to recalibrate the oven temp-but even if he’s successful, the other problems with this oven will not be resolved. I despise it and may end up having to replace it before a year is even out, because as someone who cooks all our meals from scratch, my oven needs to be a reliable. (And I have to idea what to buy now as I no longer trust manufacturer reviews!!) There is no way that a majority of customers have not had a lot of the same issues I have had, but it’s not reflected in the stellar reviews this product is showing. What a waste of money.

If you're a baker, have back-up thermometers (or just don't buy it)

I bought this about a year ago and immediately noticed how off the oven temp was. It seems to be getting worse. I bake a lot, so I have two back-up thermometers, both new at the time of the oven, one at each side, and they show me that the oven is about 25+ degrees off, with one side a little hotter. I've compensated for it up to now, but now it seems to struggle to get to where I want it. The manual says don't count on these thermometers, but they're better than this oven. How much does one have to spend to get an oven that's properly calibrated? Ridiculous. What a piece of junk. Never again.

Absolutely the best!

This range has so many features on it, I can’t wait to slow cook a pot roast in it. The range has LED lighted knobs, a bridge between 2 of the elements for cooking. This range is also touch screen! I absolutely love my new range, so many different features and it’s smudge proof.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife cooked this years thanksgiving dinner using our new Frigidaire stove/oven. She was very impressed with the convection roast option. She did not have this option on our previous stove. The turkey turned out beautifully browned like the ones you see on tv commercials and magazines, store flyers, etc. and the meat was not dried out as happens with baking bags and baking setting. She was able to warm sweet potatoes and green beans casserole quickly as i carved the bird. The stove gets hot in a rapid amount of time. Very helpful in cooking food quickly. I would definitely recommend this stove/oven to friends and family!! I am very pleased with our purchase and would make another Frigidaire appliance purchase based on my experience with this one! Thank you for making a stove that makes my wife want to cook again!
