Hi, and thanks for reviewing the Traeger Ironwood. In situations where a grill has no power the first time using it, the resolution should be very easy. Since you will have likely already checked the outlet, and made sure the grill is directly plugged in without an extension cord, there are a few other quick checks that can be done to determine why it isn’t turning on. If you want to try this on your own, we have a comprehensive help page on Traeger.com that walks through the process, which can be found by searching “Not Getting Power - Timberlines & Ironwoods”, then clicking the SUPPORT link above the results. But an even better option is calling Traeger Customer Service to have someone go through the steps with you. Hello, and thank you for your feedback on the Traeger Ironwood. Some fluctuation is normal, with the average temperature still being very close to what the grill is set to, but obviously 50 degrees above or below is excessive. Although many times these swings are the result of easily correctible causes, such as startup/shutdown method, number of lid openings, grill maintenance, pellet quality and how often the temperature is changed, it is probably safe to assume that these potential factors have already been considered. When you have a little time, and are with the grill, please reach out to Traeger Customer Service. One of our agents can perform a few tests with you to find out what needs to be done to get your Ironwood performing the way it should be.

Just started on the carnivore diet and wanted a more diverse option of foods. I did some research on what type of smoker I wanted and decided on the ease of the Traeger. I've made Brisket and Pork Burnt Ends so far and both were AMAZING! Better than any BBQ joint in town!

This is a very new Traeger to me. I Have not had the chance to use it so this is a rating for the assembly of the ironwood. Overall very impressed on the packaging! The assembly and instructions were pretty straightforward and easy to follow. I did however notice a little issue when I plugged it in to do the initial burn. The unit didn't want to turn on at first but after a couple attempts at the button it finally did. So I hope the on/off button doesn't become an issue down the road. If so I have heard that the Traeger team is very helpful and ready to remedy any problems you may face. Overall excited to use it! Its a very nice unit especially coming from a little tex that I've had a many years.
