Fun but odd layout

I just completed this set with my son. We get the modular set every year. We loved the build but thought the layout was a little odd and had wasted space. You will need pieces from bag 13 to complete steps during bag 12. I panicked and thought we were missing pieces, but you just need to open bag 13 early. Overall a very fun build though!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Another excellent modular building

This was another fun build. The little tie-ins to other sets and the history of the pieces presented is a really fun addition to the build process and it highlights the attention to detail that the designers give. I wish I could remember it all as my son displays these with his train layout at Lego events. Be aware that as you build bag 12 you will find steps 332 and 333 have no pieces - but fret not as you will find them in bag 13.

Words do not describe how amazing this is

There is not enough space in this review to say how amazing this experience was. This is not a normal LEGO set, it is a beautiful experience. Do not listen to any negative critique. They're salty with the number of missing pieces. There were a few for me, only because the instructions are very complex. The minifigures are unique, every aspect of this set is astounding. There are so many details, the play experience is amazing, and the building experience seemed like a journey of sorts, one to build something you'll be proud of. The layout is expertly done, there are small blurbs throughout the instruction book that make it easier to build, and there are endless references to the Assembly Hall set. This set overjoys me and is the best LEGO set ever made, in my opinion. I hope LEGO keeps up the amazing work and I will be buying next year's Modular building for sure.

Awesome set

I had a very fun time building this set, I love all the rooms and the story’s inside the set. The only thing is that I wish it came with a few more figs and some of the parts for bag 12 were in bag 13 but I loved building this set.

Since the word ‘awesome’ has ceased to have any meaning and I have more than an average vocabulary, I’ll skip the use of that word. This is the best modular in years. No missing pieces and great design. While I’m usually not a fan of multi-themed modulars, this one works. The police station-donut shot was an old over used cliche. The jazz club-pizza place seems like a much better idea. Of course, I could think this is a great set because I’ve been building alternative brand modulars for the past several months. Hey, Lego! How about a mid year release of a ‘half’ modular. Subjects like a donut shop, news stand or flower shop could easily be done on half of a full sized base plate. Plus it would put money in your pocket and I wouldn’t have to buy as many alternative brand modulars. Or, maybe I liked it because I bought the latest Lego Eiffle Tower and gave it away after completing roughly 25% of it due to sheer boredom and maybe a little bit of a questionable design. Anyway, Jazz Club is a first rate set. Oh, if you get to the end of section 12 and are missing the pieces for the last 2 pages on instructions, they’re probably in bag 13 like mine were.

This is the ugliest building in the entire line up. Enough with the 2-in-1 modulars. Since the Book Shop, they’ve been sacrificing scale and detail to squeeze in as many extra buildings as possible onto the same baseplate. This silly teeny tiny little jazz club might as well be an open-back Friends set. Bring back the behemoths.
