Am I missing a piano keyboard in this set?

Absolutely in love with the Lego Jazz Club. However, is this jazz club set missing a piano keyboard?

Looks like this jazz band went on tour without a pianist. They're such good musicians, they can make it work even with just drums and sax! We'll let our design teams know what would make the band complete.

I greatly enjoyed building this set and the minor features peppered throughout are very enjoyable and brought back a sense of nostalgia.

The Jazz Club has a lot of unique details and building techniques that make it both fun to build and to look at. Each floor had something new, and I loved that there wasn't a single sticker in this build. The coloring of the bricks and minifigures in this set is stellar, everything in terms of color looks great. As a musician, the idea of a Jazz club set was beyond exciting, but the payoff was not quite as good as I had hoped.
Building the 'floor' part of the first level was not the most exciting building experience, with it being a couple bags of painstakingly laying out lots of tiles. This is my first modular, and I expect that most are this way, but it wasn't a great way to start off. That being said, once you get through that part, the rest of the first level gets a lot better. Small details like the ticket box, the bathroom under the stairs, and the various ingredients and cooking appliances in the kitchen make for a detailed build that doesn't feel too cluttered. The building techniques used for setting the stage, curtains, and entryway were all interesting and made for a fun building experience. It is a little odd that there isn't a bar in a 'Jazz club,' but - since it is a toy company, at the end of the day - that can be excused. I also was disappointed by the lack of detail in the drumset, and that there was no dedicated sax player included in the set. There was a missing piece (which has been a recurring issue in the larger sets I have purchased over the past year) that made it difficult to continue with the build. I have an off color replacement for the time being, but it is disappointing that the quality control in terms of missing pieces has been getting significantly worse recently. It is particularly annoying since, for me, it has happened in sets of higher price points like this one and Rivendell.
The second floor was a pleasant build, with the stained glass windows and sewing machine being particular highlights. The choice to have the corner of the office be open above the stage was an odd one, considering that the space wasn't needed and the acoustics would be dismal inside the club as a result (not to mention that the drum sound would funnel directly into the office). It would've been nice to have set up bookshelves, a record cabinet (to go with the player), a fridge, or something else similar with that corner space. The sewing room was also a little empty, but the fabric rolls and sewing machine were fantastic details.
The third floor and roof were, in my opinion, the best part of the build. The green room is in the perfect middle of detailing, with enough space for play but without feeling sparse. I was hoping the music notes were an easter egg of sorts but they didn't seem like the beginning of any standard/tune I was familiar with. The roof looks great, with the building techniques used mimicking masonry beautifully. The squirrel was a nice touch as well. The garden is also a nice touch, and while the roof doesn't quite sit as perfectly as I'd like on the greenhouse, it still looks great.
Overall, it was worth the price and looks great. Most of my qualms are rather nitpicky, and I would certainly recommend this set. I will likely be making some edits though, and I am still disappointed that a set at this price point would be missing pieces.

Another great addition!
on January 4, 2023

This was another great addition to the line of modular buildings! It's again loaded with tons of fun details (my favorite being the artwork on the third floor) and really innovative building techniques. I was thrilled to add this building to my "main street!" I tend to be a speedy builder and this set took about seven hours to complete, so be prepared for a long build.
I do want to give a heads up that the instructions and the bags do not match for a few steps. I can't recall that exact steps (I think its around 330), but as you're building the back windows on the 3rd floor, those pieces are not in bag 12, they are in bag 13. Scared the pants off of me because I thought I wouldn't be able to finish building, but just a case of instructions and bagging not lining up. Otherwise, a totally enjoyable build!

A taste of Jazz and Italy

This set is quite easy to build and very fun, especially when it came to the stage and the doorway outside. When it comes to the later modulars, the lego company constantly emphasizes on detail and there's plenty on the interior and exterior, especially building furniture. In case if anyone is asking, there are a total of "0" stickers involved which I hope lego continues with.
While the build was easy, I am a little annoyed that the PDF instruction booklet hasn't been uploaded as I prefer that over using the hardcopy book as it increases work space. Another issue/mistake I discovered which can be found in the instructions is that by step 332 and 333, there are no more pieces from bag 12. Only after opening bag 13 are we able to complete the last two phases and move on, which by the way, everything works out.

A Classic…
on January 12, 2023

I love the Modular series. I wait every year for the announcement of the next design. This year, I was not disappointed by Lego’s Jazz Club. From the classic American architecture, to the prominent sign spanning one and a half floors, there’s a lot to look at here. I wasn’t sure about the bright blue color at first, but after placing it with the other Modulars, it’s a nice pop of color. Like the pink of the Downtown Diner’s sign, or the Teal Townhouse next to the Bookshop. The build itself was engaging as always and, most importantly, NO STICKERS!! I was so pleased to see that all the pieces with graphics on them were printed. I also love how the instruction book has a progress indicator on the bottom of the pages. That way, you know how far along you are in your build. The only downside to this set is when you’re done building. Although every time I see them in my glass cabinet, they bring a smile to my face.

Nice building, no quality control
on January 14, 2023

The set includes a nice variety of colors for the buildings and includes only prints. Especially the window art with transparent color bricks looks incredible. The indoor walls should have received more detailing and some guests in the Jazz Club would have made the scene more lively. I would have expected at least 2-3 guests and a waiter or a door man or someone behind the ticket counter. The light yellow bricks and the light yellow plates have a different coloring to the point where it is very visible. There is not much going on in the back of the building, it is very bland but the big windows allow a view into the rooms, which is nice. A backstage entrance would have been nice with a sign going along with it, maybe some dumpsters, instead of only a door with no markings.
The building experience was a little boring. There were no interesting building techniques or very unique ways to build certain items. The set is built in no time.
I like the building as it has a nice facade, especially the blue entrance of the Jazz Club sticks out for me, but the worst part of it all is that there was no quality control. The bricks for building step 331 and following are not in the bag/s associated with the building step and after a long search I realized that some of those bricks are in the bag of the next building step a few pages later. But in the end, again bricks were missing and after having built the set the facade shows gaps due to missing corner and regular plates. It is a shame to have to wait again two+ weeks before I actually have a finished set (if my request for the missing items will be approved) - in one year of having bought dozens of LEGO sets only one set (42136) had all parts in it. It's not the building experience long-time LEGO customers like me are looking for. The growth LEGO has experienced since 2020 is not managed well and comes at the cost of low quality with a lack of motivation to solve the known issues. At least that is what I experience.
