Great design

I have not been a big fan of technic sets but this one may have converted me. As always, you must be precise with every step for the end result to come together and have its moving parts function well. The design is brilliant. I looked at a pile of pins and pieces after opening each bag and was amazed how they came together. And this is a massive and very attractive plane. Good job, designers!

I bought this as a gift for a 9 year old because he has just been breezing through the builds on his age level. This was a 4 day build for him and a nice challenge. He did one misstep, but was able to get back on track and complete with all the functions working properly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Poor landing gear design

As another reviewer mentioned, the landing gear is poorly designed and binds frequently. Because of how the aircraft is designed, once this happens, it is nearly impossible to fix without completely disassembling the model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A "TECHNIC"-AL WONDER

This was my first TECHNIC build and honestly, I was not a fan starting out with all the pegs and beams. (I thought there might be some kind of peg removal tool included?) Some of the instruction images do not match the result wanted, but I pushed on and thankfully everything worked. It's BIG! It's a beautifully designed and sturdy. I love the colors, the water tank drop, the propellers, all the moving parts. I have to say, as I neared the end, I thought it was not so bad after all and I just might look for another TECHNIC to build if it is as unique and priced as economically. Good job, LEGO! Bet it would look good hanging.

Cool set, but...

Cool plane, with many cool features, but before you move on building after step 265 and step 317 (same in both steps, these steps are almost identical because they are just on different wings) put the large gear the opposite side from where the instructions tell you to. (as shown on picture) You see, LEGO wasn't smart enough to have the propellers moving the right way. And don't believe the LEGO display video. The landing gear takes longer to pull up. Otherwise Great set. Fully recommend and God bless!
