I wish I would have passed
on December 27, 2022

I bought this without really looking at what the buildings were because I was worried about it going out of stock. Once I got it, I realized it's *another* toy shop and I already had the second one they made from a few years ago. My kids get excited because 'Santa' adds a piece to their Lego Winter Village every year so it was built and placed it as is tradition. The tram is cute but seems a little large in scale compared to the buildings and it comes with yet another Christmas tree. The build is safe, nothing super exciting. The sticker sheet I got was miscut so some borders are off and look funny on certain pieces. The foil Home Alone sticker sheet had the same problem.

That shouldn't happen! We want this latest addition to your winter village to look its best, so please get in touch for replacement stickers at LEGO.build/Service-BV.

I really like this set. It has multiple mini figures, two buildings and a train car. It’s fun splitting up the builds. This is a Great addition to my other Christmas sets. Love it!

Disappointing
on October 12, 2022

The architecture and style of this set doesn’t match anything else in the village. It will look out of place next to the bakery and the previously released (twice) toy store, which have a village look. Also do we really need another toy store? This one is cramped and has no room for holiday shoppers. There’s barely room for the store owner. Nice to have a music store, but that’s also cramped. This seems like City set reject with some snow pieces and holiday trim. After the creative offerings of previous years, Santa’s Visit, Elf Clubhouse, and the Gingerbread House, this year’s set is a big disappointment. There are too many builds, and the 1,514 pieces, while a lot, are stretched pretty thin with mediocre builds. The best build is the tram. Sad when the vehicle is better than the buildings. I will make the best of this set in my Winter Village display and hope that next year’s set will be much better.

We’re sorry to hear your building experience with the Holiday Main Street was disappointing. We want our builders to feel inspired and have lots of fun building their new sets. We’ll share your suggestions with our design teams so they know where we’ve missed the mark this time.

Soooo many missing pieces
on December 11, 2023

The trolley is adorable, as is the music shop, and I can't wait to buy the extra pieces to power the trolley. Honestly, I really enjoyed the build until I got to Santa's toy shop. There are so many missing pieces, I don't even know where to begin. I know I can order them online, but it's super disappointing when you're 2/3 of the way through a set and you hit a complete stop. Going through manually to identify each missing piece is an absolute nightmare, and it's not just one...it's at least 20 unique pieces missing. What a bummer given the potential of the set.

LAME, but cute
on October 31, 2022

My family and I get so excited every year to see what the new holiday lego will look like as we have a whole holiday lego set that we set up every year. This year's holiday set "Holiday Main Street" is cute, but is kind of lame to be the ONLY holiday set. Lego has such creative minds and this is what they give us?!?! Come on Lego, you can do better! How about Santa's Christmas castle, peppermint factory, reindeer shed, or another Christmas train? The list could go on forever! Please be more creative next year Lego! My family and I LOVE to collect and display our holiday village, give us another piece to be EXCITED about:)

Thanks for letting us know how much fun you had building the Holiday Main Street set. We’re sorry it’s not quite how you’d like for your holiday decorations, but your feedback will help us make future sets even more magical.

I purchased the Holiday Main Street to put on display at Christmas. This will go along with my Gingerbread house, Santa's Visit , Elves Workshop and Christmas tree. I look forward to adding more pieces.

So-So Kit

The trolley is too big and bulky and takes too many bricks to get the job done, even if you are going to motorize it, and the color scheme is weak. The two buildings are kind of a shame, actually, and are not as deep as previous winterville offerings. This feel like it was hastily made and more to the point, like they used as few bricks as possible on the buildings and the least amount of cool detail. I've remade the trolley to be horse-drawn, and made it smaller and more to scale for the winterville layout. I've also combined the two buildings with bricks I already have to make a more substantial music shop. Who needs another toy shop (or even one actually) where Santa lives. Bottom line, this is good for parts, or maybe as a collector item for resale because it won't sell that well, but for a serious builder, this feels like a C+ kit at best. (PS: it took 7 tries to get this review able to be submitted -- see images for two reasons, I guess they dislike negative reviews. . . )
