So much fun, zero issues

One of my favorite builds ever! Do take care in setting up the counterweight and tracks, but then it is SO much fun. Probably the only Lego I've built that I can show to non-Lego friends and they go, "So cool!" It is quite easy to build too, so that can be a pro or con, but the end results is phenomenal.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This was an amazing build for me. I had so much fun building this set. Mistakes were me missing a small step and wondering why I had an extra piece. Only fixes I had were to the crank (misaligned a piece) and having to move one link on the chain. The play is so much fun. Next is to motorize it.

I really enjoyed building this set. It requires patience, experience, and the ability to keep your excitement in check which I’m terrible at. It fits right in with my Carousel, Ferris wheel and Coaster. Can’t wait for what’s next!

Watch You Tube video reviews first - then Buy!

I spent several months pondering this purchase. You Tube reviews came in very handy for this (Tiago's are my favorite). Upshot seems to be it costs too much but is super cool. I purchased because of the structural and mechanical engineering built in here, knowing that these would really thrill my son. Mission accomplished - he built this weeks ago and still stares at it daydreaming. The inclusion of extra coaster parts (2x used for counter weight) and track parts (for counter weight, for structure roof, and for drop curve) was exceptionally well done and should allow for independent track development. My son noted that removing only track pieces would be very simple - he could experiment with other track designs without taking apart the whole supporting structure here, and re-assemble Loop easily.

Main Function Failure

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While Building the LEGO Loop Coaster was a lot of fun, the functionality is very lacking. I have now rebuilt the elevator car 10 times and it was never successfully dropped properly after releasing the coaster train at the top of the tower. If you remove the string and counterweight, it was fall and exploded but if you leave it, the cart takes forever to fall and it normally just getting stuck on the chain as it comes back around. It is obvious that the designers didn’t properly weight the elevator to the counterweight so that it would always fall correctly. If they did, they need to make a video showing how to probably rig the weight and elevator so it fall correctly every time. For a $400+ set ($500 with the motors), it is lacking consistent functionality and I would like a response asap on how to fix it.

Let's get your Loop Coaster fixed! You'll want to make sure the string is tied to its full length, placed in the correct groove, and that the counterweight lines up exactly as shown on step 544. If that doesn't work, our experts at LEGO.build/Service-BV would be happy to troubleshoot with you.
