Favorite build! Worth it 100%

This is my favorite LEGO and would recommend it to anyone that is considering the purchase! As long as you follow the directions correctly, the mechanics work flawlessly. Making sure you use the instructed number of chain pieces is essential to the functionality. Thank you LEGO and congratulations to the designer(s)!

've been excited about a new fairground ride, the Loop Coaster, since it was first announced! This set is massive and the vibrant colors are ideal. Blue and yellow-orange go together perfectly. It's well-designed, the ride is smooth, and the elevator concept is unique and entertaining to watch as it's built! I adore it! The construction of this set was smooth and varied; the only redundant part was the elevator chain. Overall, I give this set two thumbs up for its cleverness and fun build, as well as the color scheme chosen by the Lego group. Yes, I did read all the one-star reviews for this set about the elevator lift getting stuck and the cars getting stuck sometimes, and yes, I have dealt with these kinds of issues, but they are fixable and super easy; you need to tweak a few bricks and studs and your good. After fixing it, like taking a few chains off, my loop coaster has been operating smoothly and nicely. Overall amazing set!

AWESOME & CHALLENGING

This was one of the most challenging builds I have done. I loved every part of the build. If you are a fan of the previous rides (ferris wheel, carousel, and Coaster) you will love this one even more. It is very tall so I had to do some rearranging. I gave the average for cost solely because the piece count could have been reduced if they used whole piece circle 4x2 rather than 1/2 circles to make a circle for the coaster posts. I also bought the power up pack. The power up pack is a redesign and at first I couldn't figure out how to turn it on (thank you youtube). I absolutely loved this build from start to finish. The best of the amusement rides to date. I would love for Lego to re-release the Mixer but redesigned as a ride similar to the more recent ones rather than a carnival style ride with the truck.

So much fun to build and play with! Looks amazing!

This set was a really fun build and even more fun to play with. It's the first thing people want to try when we have visitors or friends over. With the power up attachment it's so easy our 7 year old niece can use it. The issues I see people having come from not reading the the instructions properly, there are a few very specific steps regarding how many links to use and how loose to run the counter balance. All in all this build is fun to use and fun to build but it's not for beginners to assemble.

A tough transition

Bags 1 through 11 are quick and easy. Bags 12 -15 are more complicated. The instructions this time out also lacked clarity in the latter half of the assembly. There were numerous times when i had to study the diagrams and make my best guess as to what the designer was intending. Due to lack of clarity, this is by far the worst set of Lego instructions i've encountered in the last 25 years of building. Nonetheless, this is a beautiful model. The station details are fun and a really unique build. That being said, the transition of the train from elevator to track only works correctly one out of every 4 or 5 times. Sure, you can use your fingers to guide the cars onto the track but, hey, this is Lego. You shouldn't have to do that! This thing should be able to run on its own. And it does NOT. Also,I have to lament that assembling 222 chain links and an additional 33 bigger links was exceptionally tedious and extremely boring. I expect better from Lego than this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Runs fine now

Found the build to be enjoyable as each phase of the track came together, as well as the construction of the elevator mechanism. After a couple frustrating hours I was able to correct the stickiness of the elevator drop with a simple plate addition. Runs fine now

Works Flawlessly

I have read with great interest other reviews here that discuss the poor "engineering" and lack of consistent functionality. My experience couldn't be further from this. I carefully put the entire set together, taking care to make sure that all bricks were fully inserted and "tight", and it works flawlessly! I motorized it with the recommended power up components, and it is just works! I needed to move it to another room in my home, and fortunately I had built it on a stiff piece of cardboard which allowed it to be easily moved. Even after moving it, the coaster works beautifully. For those who are having trouble getting it to work, it might be useful to review the building steps, and be sure that every brick is firmly clicked into place. This is in my top 5 sets of all time and makes an awesome addition to the amusement park theme. Looking forward to the next one!
