Fun but lacks stability

I love this set, I really do. It is just fun. However, it does have a few issues. The main column on the build is not nearly stable enough. Any movement and the beam sways and can come apart. I built the Loop and had to move it. The coaster fell apart. On the plus side, I get to reassemble the main parts. Secondly, the tracks do tend to not line up perfectly at the beginning of the coaster so you really have to get the tracks adjusted well so it will work. Lastly, the base of this piece is flimsy. It needs to be more substantial due to the heaviness of the beam and it’s height. Even with these issues, I still would recommend this set to advanced builders.

Minifig Death Trap

The design of the elevator is poor. The coaster gets stuck at the top leading to the platform to come crashing back to earth with the coaster and the poor figs on it. It slams to the bottom and the cars go everywhere. Also, I can also tell that motorizing it will be a pain. If the cars return and the chain return at about the same time it doesn’t allow time for the cars to load onto the elevator
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fun set but unclear packaging

I was really excited when I picked up this set for my household to work on, thinking it would make a great addition to an empty table in our hallway. While the build itself has been incredibly fun so far the experience has been soured somewhat by the fact that it was made incredibly unclear that the motorized parts are sold separately. No where on the box does it explicitly say this. You are simply meant to infer that information from a series of pictures that are followed by the words "Ready for Powered Up". What makes this worse beyond just an additional 80 dollars on top of the rather large, but justified, price tag is that one of these components currently aren't avaible on the website for a few months or at the store we're near.
Ultimately this is still a really great set, but I think it would be a good idea to actually say that the motorized parts are sold separately on the box itself.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Awesome when it works, which is basically never.

I love this set. But it always has issues. Especially with the motorized functions. It always has a problem. And every time I fix the problem, a new one comes up. It’s never ending cycle. The chain always snaps. Even when it’s under no pressure. The motor works, but fails to move the chain. The cart rarely moves onto the track off the elevator without assistance. If you get this set, be prepared for non-stop maintenance. The set is put together properly, I’ve had to look at the instructions for help, but no. I put everything together perfect. Never works. I have spent more time maintaining this thing than acctually enjoying it. I would only recommend this if you have plenty of patience, because in my experience, you WILL need it. This set is also very overpriced.

Great but quality control is dropping

This set is amazing. I loved the build. The roller coaster works perfect. All my parts fit together very well. The reason for four stars is, There was several mistakes in the instruction book ( can you find them)? Then I was missing two blocks and had one extra that the set did not use. Of course Lego made it right its just frustrating. I totally recomend this set!!

It was good at first...

The problem with this build was that as it was used, it stopped working. The cars stopped going the whole way to the lift, the chain for the lift broke multiple times, and it was an overall sad thing that such a cool looking set is so bad.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Loved this set

I missed out on the last big roller coaster and bought a cheap copy that was terrible. This time I wasn't missing out and I was rewarded. The build was fun. Couple of spots large hands didn't help but got through it. The palm tree was a little odd as an add in. Definitely worth getting!!!
