Disappointing but beautiful- won’t recommend

It is heart breaking to review this beautiful and specially designed kit. It has enchanting characteristics like it’s hight, the colorful curves, the 11 mini figures beautifully dressed and prepared to roll through the coater; the hot dog, ballon and pretzel carts, at any rate, a spectacular scenery and details that should have made it an amazing kit. But, and there is the “BUT” which stains the effort placed by the artist/engineer who spent endless hours designing such a wonderful kit that does not properly work as expected and makes an engineering marvel, a small flaw of engineering in the eyes of some, and I. I do have to echo the voice of those who found a flaw in the elevator system, a flaw that takes away most, if not, all of the ability to play and fully enjoy the total beauty of the Coaster. Manually, raising it is a disaster! It is almost impossible to raise the track and coaster car at a good pace without jerks due to the ratio of the gears! And when they get to the top, they try to leave racing out, most times derailing. Amazing how fast they go down the slope and how neet they take the loops! That is impressive! Then they come to a stop, some of the times, that is if the track has not slammed down and is out of alignment or worst! I tried the power up function and the situation got even worse. The motor is too fast; the tray mostly stays half way and the coaster carts smash against the lower stop or came out of the track; in other instances the coaster cart already was down and the elevator smashed down against it! I tried a different slower type motor, the large low rpm, and it kind of worked better but still the counter weight had difficulties! One thing I noticed is that the tower, no matter what I do to it, it alwasy has some curvature, it is not perfectly straight. I used some crazy glue to prevent some of the bricks from coming loose since I understand the weight is not rhe problem but haven't had the time to sit and play more with it. I guess it has not been a good seller, I bought mine the same night it became available and it has never been backordered as I expected! Truthfully, I was going to purchase another for a nephew but after my experience, decided against it. I am sorry not being able to give a good or better review on this one. I am a Lego enthusiast and lover of almost 50 years; have built hundreds of intricate and multi thousands brick Lego's! However on this one, well, I beleive it still needed some work before turning it to us. Perhaps some retrofitting will be available later for use to purchase or free and fix it or better yet, we will work some fixes on our own!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Looks good -one suggestion

Minimal problems putting it together but then I have even managed to assemble the Ferrari. There isn't much room for the assorted extras (pretzel vendor, balloons, hot dog stand). I found that the chain drive needed fixing after a few trials: remove enough of the elements so that it is tight and doesn't flap around in use. Otherwise, this one is a masterpiece of design.

Best coaster to date

building it was actually fun watching it come together and the different techniques used. I hooked the old coaster and the new coaster together to make one big continuous coaster and it works awesome. A lot of the old issues on the coaster were rectified on the new coaster it runs so much more smoother.

Party Time!

It was very big and I had fun building it. But my favorite part was putting in the tracks. Great to watch the cars go around the loop-de-loop. And the chain was longer than I thought. There were a few problems, but I got it. And the stickers were tricky, but I made them work. And it was hard work - but lots of fun.

It's cool and very tall, but the use of the half cylinders was super annoying in building the tower. Completely unnecessary

The one set to get in 2022

After reading the reviews about the functionality issues with the older coaster set, I was hesitant about this one. I should not have worried. This set is not only aesthetically pleasing but a joy to watch and operate. All parts work flawlessly and in unison 99.8 % of the time when operating the coaster by hand. In the rare instances where the cars get stuck, the fix is simple and quickly made. Low maintenance, beautiful, an engineering marvel. This is the one set to get 2022. (My coaster is now happily running as LOOP: FLIGHT OF THE ANGLIA as a complement to my LEGO Harry Potter collection. Thank you for the matching colors for the cars, LEGO!)

Very satisfied (also mini-fig with a cochlear!)

I got this as a gift and was so excited to begin building it!! As I made my way through the set, I was (happily) surprised to discover a LEGO Minifigure with a cochlear implant! I’m so glad lego is giving representation to these groups, like how in the Haunted House Fairground set included a Minifigure in a wheelchair and the “everyone is awesome” (sorry I’m not sure of the name) that represents the LGBTQ community! Please continue representing minorities, it’s amazing!! Love your work, LEGO!

Fun Build!!!

This was a really fun build. I love all the details included. I bought the motor kit to go with it and the coaster works perfectly. It's fun to crank by hand, but letting it run on it's own is cool to watch.
