This is our 2nd tuft and needle purchase. We bought a queen a few years ago and LOVED it so much we upgraded to a King when we moved to a bigger house.

This is a fantastic mattress. I purchased it because I was developing low back problems due to my old mattress starting to sag. I noticed an immediate improvement with the Tuft & Needle Mint from night one! It has the perfect firmness for sleeping in literally any position (I would characterize it as medium-firm). However it is not so firm that you get shoulder pain when sleeping on your side. I am now back pain-free after just a couple weeks. I also like that you don't get stuck in the mattress, which can be a problem with memory foam. I shift positions a lot at night and haven't had any problems. Finally, regarding heat retention, this mattress doesn't retain any heat. At all.
In fact, if you get up to use the bathroom, by the time you get back the bed is cold again. That's perhaps the only negative point, although I imagine many people wouldn't see this as a problem. At any rate, I added an extra blanket, and couldn't be happier!

Most comfortable bed ever! Supportive and firm, while still being soft at the same time. And does not get hot like other memory foam mattresses. I’m very pleased with the bed and would purchase again in the future!

Great for side sleeping, less great for back pain

The mint works great for my side-sleeping wife. I've got a pretty achy back every morning after sleeping on my stomach/back. While I initially found the amount of give pleasant, I'm not sure this will work for me in the long run. For what it's worth, I haven't had back problems in the past.

I bought this mattress to replace my Tempurpedic. The Mint was advertised as staying cooler than other similar beds, and the value seemed good.
I cannot detect any cooling gel foam in this bed. I don't think it cools as advertised.
