After reading the reviews, I thought this would be a firm mattress with a plusher top. Its OK as far as firmness, but still feels really sinky and squishy overall (not just the top layer) and when others are on the bed you feel a lot of movement. Both Hubs and I are well under 200 lbs. Side sleeping is OK, but would not recommend if you are a back sleeper - I still wake up in the middle of the night with pain and have to shift to my side after a month of having this mattress. All in all, its OK but NOT a firm, hotel-quality mattress if thats what you are after.

Sore neck and mid back every morning

It definitely looks nice and high quality. A few weeks into using it, I began to experience neck and mid/lower back pain every morning and lingering throughout the day. I am in my 20s, average weight, so it's not due to my body type. I gave it some time to see if other factors were the cause, but and by the time I realized it must be the mattress causing the soreness, the 100 day guarantee had passed by a few days. Now I cannot return it (couldn't prove defective or uneven sinking. It evenly sinks in super deep depending on the weight placed on it). I believe the mattress is too soft and sinks in deep around my hips/butt, causing my back to arch the entire night. If I lay on my side, my spine and hips are not aligned and spine is curved due to the sinking in at the hips. This mattress claims to have firmness, but I don't experience that. I would only recommend this mattress to someone who needs ALOT of cushion to the point of sinking in.

I think my mattress is about 18 months old. My husband complains that his side has compressed into a dip and is uncomfortable. I bought the mint. I honestly thought I'd get more use than about 18 months for a 1200 mattress with a10 yr warranty. But if a disappointment

We love the Mint!

We have had our Mint mattress for 3 years. I wish everywhere we traveled had this mattress. We sleep so much better on it than other mattresses. My husband and I both have some joint/back issues and we do not wake up with a sore back or hips since we got this mattress. Also, I sleep hot and have hot flashes and this mattress is much cooler than traditional or memory foam mattresses. (Unfortunately, it will NOT eliminate your hot flashes!) My husband turns and tosses a lot and there is minimal movement on my side (we have a king size) which is something I was needing. The comfort of a mattress is obviously subjective to each person and their needs, but this is perfect for us. So much so that we are getting one for the guest bed as when one of us is sick, we sleep in the guest room. My husband is a back and side sleeper and I am a side and stomach sleeper.

It took longer than the time they allot to see if you like. My back hurts worst now than before we got the mattress.

My husband and I bought the original T+N mattress way back in the day and loved it (still do)...favorite mattress ever. A little over a year ago we were shopping for a larger mattress and the customer service folks told me that the basic mattress isn't the same as the old version, and that the Mint one would be the best choice for our needs and sleep types. Got the Mint, and it was too firm...quite uncomfortable to sleep on. Customer service convinced me to get a topper and try it out rather than returning the mattress. It was better for a while, and then my husband and I started training more so I chalked up the aches and pains to that instead. Fast-forward to now (using it for the first time in 10 months after traveling) and after one night of sleeping on it I ended up with bad lower back pain...so much so that we slept on the older, smaller, original T+F bed instead. I wish I had put my foot down and asked for the simpler model instead and now I'm stuck with a mattress I hate and need to replace. Maybe if my body had more cushion it'd be OK, but I don't recommend it for bony side-sleepers.

Over time, super stiff back in the morning and sweaty more often than not.

The product is made in good quality; however, it’s function has not provided quality sleep for me. At first, I chalked it up to us downsizing our bed, and having small children: i.e. you don’t get sleep anyway. But my husband and kids have been gone the last few nights and I’ve had the whole bed to myself and slept through the night, but have woken up with an incredibly stiff back. I did yoga yesterday morning and woke up with the same severe stiffness this morning. Additionally I have woken up many times super sweaty, without any reason to. This mattress is not for me. Sure it feels like a nice hug when you first lay down, but with time, you begin to really it’s function is not met with its first appeal.

I gave this a 4 star rating because I really wanted to receive this mattress and say it was the best night sleep I had ever had after the first night. However, I was disappointed... read on! For me, the mint was too firm. My husband loved it, but I am a side sleeper and really struggled to get comfortable. After about 5 nights, I contacted Tuft and Needle. I talked to a customer service representative immediately. She recommended we try the Mattress topper. This 2 inch soft pad was exactly what I needed to be happy with this mattress. The soft foam on the firm mattress is the perfect combination for my comfort. I do wonder if I would have been better off with the Hybrid mattress if I would do it all over again. I have just figured out I really needed something a little softer. Also, when ordering your mattress, it is a good time to think about your pillows. I decided as well that our pillows were part of the problem with getting comfortable. Once we placed the topper on our bed (which doesn't slip as I have read in other reviews) and replaced our pillows, I am sleeping better than ever. My husband loves this mattress as well. He makes fun of me calling me the "Princess and the Pea" since it has been a little difficult to get just the right set-up.
