After months and months of research, and shopping countless showrooms and vendors I finally pulled the trigger on a queen Tuft and Needle mint mattress. Delivery and unboxing was as easy as it could be and we slept on the mattress the very night we unboxed it. Both my wife and I have different sleeping preferences, so finding the right fit (soft enough for her - 5 feet/115 lbs. and firm enough for me 6'1"/250 lbs.) was a HUGE challenge! Let me just state for the record that this mattress is VERY good quality and VERY comfortable! After a few days I thought possibly the mattress was too firm and the company was good enough to send me a topper at no charge to try. The mattress did eventually soften up to the point that the topper was not needed. The only caveat for us was that I sleep EXTREMELY hot and this mattress was a HUGE let down in that regard. Ultimately we needed to initiate a return/refund. To be fair to Tuft and Needle, the salesperson in the store (Glendale location) had suggested that we purchase the Mint Hybrid mattress but we both were comfortable on the Mint so in order to save money we went with our first choice. In retrospect, I wish I would have listened to the recommendation as I believe then the issue of heat would probably NOT have been a problem with the Mint hybrid. This mattress is fairly expensive for an all-foam mattress. However, it is a quality product that is well made. Dealing with the company as a whole was outstanding! I highly recommend Tuft and Needle and their products in spite of the fact that the mattress did not work for us...

We were looking for a mattress that would be cool and comfortable. The Mint is not terribly hot, but still a bit too warm for us during the night. I'm 5'2" and 120 lbs and the Mint was too firm for me. When sleeping on my side, my shoulder was jammed into my upper spine--sore in the morning. I found the springiness of the mattress uncomfortable. When I rolled over, it felt like the bed was propelling me. My husband (5'9", 160 lbs) thought it was okay. We are returning.

It is 2 am and no sleeping on this mattress. We have had it for a year -- I was hoping - perhaps - it would break in. It is way, way too firm. I might as well be sleeping on a sack.

I've had this bed in a king for about two years now. Previously had a queen size TN original (still have it in spare bedroom). The mint is a really nice quality bed. Two years of two adults sleeping on it nightly, and I'd say zero impact to the firmness or shape. I was really hoping it would "break in" and soften up a bit; it didn't. I much prefer the TN original, and still sleep on it if I wake up and can't sleep on the mint. Unless you want a pretty firm bed, I'd recommend the original mattress- cheaper and more comfortable. For reference, I'm about 6'0" and 190 lbs, my partner is about 5'5" and 130 lbs. We are both side sleepers.
