My first two weeks on this mattress it felt a bit too soft, but I have family that had gotten one and told me to expect that window. I have a bad back, and I'm a side sleeper mostly, I had constant back and shoulder pain. 85% of that pain is better in just two weeks! Don't hesitate, it's absolutely worth it.

Softness/firmness is so individual and the reviews reflect that. We were used to a pillow top, foam covered, innerspring mattress. We loved the softness of it. This mattress has a nice give when you sit on it and feels soft when you first lay down, but it feels quite firm through the night. Having said that, after the first few nights we accommodated to that and have been sleeping soundly since. The very best part of this mattress, in my view, is that I cannot feel the other person when they get in and out of or change positions in bed! There is no bounce like we had with the old mattress. It is such a relief and has improved my sleep quality. If we decide we want a softer surface, we can always add a soft topper. This is a very nicely made mattress and we are happy with our purchase. As an aside, we paid the extra fee to have someone deliver and set it up and remove our old mattress and box spring. It was worth it!
