The pillows are soft, yet very supportive. And it's a dream to sleep on pillows that don't bunch up, that aren't lumpy and bumpy, and that when upright, against the head of the bed, provide a bolster-like prop for my back and head. Perfect!!

The mattress is extremely firm. So far, we are still waiting for it to break in.
