This pillow is very firm. The outside edges feel softer for side sleepers. I did wake up with a stiff neck after a couple of weeks using it which lasted a week to get over, so I will not be using the pillow. My husband is using the pillow now and has not had the same issue so far (he has a heavier head).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This was exactly what I needed. I felt a difference with the lack of my usual neck pain in just one night. I know this is not for everyone, though, because my husband only uses his when we’re getting in bed for the night and he’s still on his phone. He prefers flatter pillows. It becomes more firm when put in tighter pillow cases, and does offer a good amount of height (which has always been my preference with pillows). I personally have no complaint about it and love it more than any of the pillows we’ve acquired.

I ordered two pillows. Upon opening both pillows, I smelled a very strong odor from both pillows. The smell is hard to describe; it must be related to the manufacturing. The smell was so bad that I could not sleep on them at all, given that my face would be right next to the pillow. I decided to try to air them out. After WEEKS of letting the pillows air out, the smell has gone away. Other than that, I like the pillows. Be prepared to air dry them out for some time though...

I had been sleeping with no pillow for about 6 months when my old pillow suddenly became uncomfortable and unbearable. I would try to replace this pillow with others I found on the internet with no success. They were either too stiff or too high and I would opt to go back to sleeping without a pillow all together. After doing this for about 6 months I was waking up with neck pain and knew I had to find a pillow. On a friends recommendation I picked up this tuft and needles pillow. Wow! It took about a week to fully adjust to it but even during that week I could tell my search was over. It’s a perfect combination of soft and firm. It has eliminated my neck pain and to be frank I feel like i can’t go with out it and will possibly bring it with me when I travel. Although this pillow is one of the pricier ones I tried - it is worth it. I recommend it now to my friends.

This is the BEST pillow I’ve ever slept on. Usually I need two pillows and I’m constantly rearranging them to make them comfortable, but this one pillow replaces them all. It’s super supportive, comfortable, & cooling. I never thought I’d be obsessed with a pillow but do yourself a favor and get one!
