[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this mower this summer 2024. This mower is great and the mulching bagger is fantastic. I recommend the 60 volt zero turn mower, it’s a beast and surpassed all my expectations.

Great Mower

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had this for a year now and it has performed wonderfully. Normal maintenance on blades is still important of course. While this mower is great, I’d love to see 1/4” increments in cut height on future models. This would make it easier to cut lawn lower at the start of the season. This mower struggles to cut an entire 1/2” lower.
Pros: Convenient, Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Quiet, Durable, Environmentally Safe, Effective, Powerful

Greenworks hit a triple with this one!
on June 26, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just received my Zero two days ago. Everyone is right. It is difficult to get it out of the cage. I suggest putting 2x4s in the wheel dips so you don't damage the deck trying to back it out when the wheels slide. It has plenty of power and drives like a champ. The battery level goes down quickly. I have barely enough power to cut my yard almost an acre but have to definitely charge it after every use. This is the Tesla of lawn mowers as it is very fast. Overall a great product!

Drive failure, V15/V17
on August 18, 2025

The mower worked great until the catastrophic failure of error code v15/v17. The left potentiometer/ accelerator failed and bricks the mower. Green works won’t fix it unless I pay to transport the mower nearly 100miles away.

Some Pros and some cons

I've mowed for 3 weeks with this GW mower. I mow 2 lawns that total about 2.5 acres a week For the last 10 years I have been mowing with a large John Deere gasoline zero turn mower, so that's what my comparison will be with. The gas mower was(is) so loud that my hearing was damaged before I realized what was happening and started using sound-canceling ear coverings. So, the first pro: this mower is much quieter. With the blade on low speed (which I really can't use) there is practically no sound. The mower is a good bit louder with the blade on high speed, but still a lot quieter than the JD. I wear air pods under my noise cancelling ear muffs, and I don't have to turn up the volume to hear. Second pro: the batteries really do charge in 90 minutes.
Third pro: I think the cut of the grass is more even, smoother looking, with the GW mower. Fourth pro: I'm not buying gasoline anymore.
The specs on the mower say that run time is 1 hour. That's about right for me, maybe 1.5 hours if I run on low blade speed part of the time. Unfortunately, that's not long enough to finish either yard. The specs say you can mow up to 2 acres on a charge. No, you can't. I don't know how you could mow 2 acres in an hour either; maybe if you didn't have to mow around anything or ever turn. For most people this may not be an issue.
We have the mower set up to mulch. That probably uses the batteries faster than side discharge. First con: the mower does not mulch as well as the JD even on high blade speed. I'm mowing bermuda that is not nearly as thick as I would like. There's not a lot to mulch, but I still have to double mow many areas. Mowing on low blade speed mulches even less well. Minor con: the control handles are not as smooth as the JD. The GW does not circle trees quite as easily. On low mower speed, the mower tends to be jerky, but I never mow on low mower speed. Second con: the batteries are quite heavy. I'm 5'3" and weigh 122 pounds. I have to carry the batteries 2 at a time. It would be nice to just plug in the mower, but that would take a dedicated outlet and I imagine a lot longer time. This is not really a con for me, but it might be for someone bigger than me. Even at my size, I wouldn't mind if the seat went back a little farther. I can see how it might be cramped for someone who is bigger. I understand making the mower smaller and lighter enables it to run longer. I vote for running longer. Because it is smaller and lighter than the JD, it does slip sometimes when turning on an incline. It's impossible to mow my yard without being on various inclines; none of them steep, but I have had to modify my direction of mowing.
I am fortunate to be able to purchase 6 additional batteries, so I will have charged batteries ready to replace spent ones, and I can finish a yard without waiting for the batteries to recharge. I think going to electric mowers has to be done.

I am an engineer that sees plenty of mechanical design work that pays off in the long run. This mower is definitely built with a solid foundation and longevity in mind. The battery system is thought out to be used for other tool, but I don’t know many that can take these batteries due to the higher amperage. It’s on their 60v line so there’s plenty of tools to use. Comes with three dual fast chargers that really do fully charge these batteries in 90 minutes. Definitely max out a 20a circuit breaker at home if you try them all on one circuit. Any inrush trips it if you do. The performance is more than I imagined and the connectivity features are helpful. You can monitor every motor, battery level, and locate where you’re at and how much you used it every day on their app. Keep that Pepe work cause it’s pairing code is only present on that. It’d be nice to get that sent electronically, and have the lights set to turn on based on a sensor, but those are super minor. One amazing feature is the ability to tow, built in trunk to hold a few items, and the front attachment for add one when that becomes an option. Sure would like to get a snow blower add on myself one of these days.

I bought the unit 3 months ago and am happy to report it was money well spent. The unit is used for a 1 acre residential yard and for maintaining/clearing 5 acres of forest property. Nice even cut in the yard. High speed blades make for a very even cut. Offroad plenty of torque available for hills and valleys. Power offroad lasts for 3 acres in heavy grass/weeds. In a lawn setting I use about 15% of the power. Fast chargers included with the unit get the batteries powered up quickly.
