[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far quality seems good, no problems found. I have had this rider for about a month now and really like it. It's quiet and smooth. Best part, no gas, no oil, no sparkplugs, no dead battery, no engine starter to go bad, no air filters, NO BELTS or pulleys, no loud engine noises, no hot exhaust catching stuff on fire. As you can see the list goes on. Never going back to gas again. My die hard old school neighbor checked it out and after 3 minutes he was sold, said he plans to sell his john deere zero steer after this season and pick up this rider for next year. My wife loves it cause it is easy for her to use and also she can mow the grass while our baby is taking her afternoon nap and not worry about waking her up. The six batteries last more than long enough to do my 1 acre of grass about 3 times before I need to charge.
Pros: Convenient, Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Quiet, Durable, Environmentally Safe, Effective, Powerful

I thought this would an answer to prayer after owning gas mowers for over 60 years. Shortly after I receive this mower it 2022 it started giving a MR23 code. This means the right mower is overheating. I contacted Greenworks and they were great and sent out a new motor. It was late fall so when the motor arrived I put it on the shelf for install in the spring of 2023. Installed it and it did not work. So I put the old motor back and mowed. The mower would mow about 3/4 of my 1.5 acre and throw codes. I let it coold and kept going. When I contacted Greenworks they said they changed there policy and no longer send out parts and I was required to take it to an authorized repair shop, 60 miles away. This was peak season and I knew it meant taking it there, on a trailer. Dropping it off and likely waiting a few weeks to get it back. So I suffered through the summer and figured I would do it in the fall. In the mean time I looked at the motor they had sent and found a teminal that was not fully seated in the connector. I fixed the terminal and reintalled the motor. Everything worked. So for nearly a year I have been a happy camper. Then about a month ago it started throwing the same code along with ML23. I am fed up with constant shutting down of the mower. It now only mows half my front yard, about a normal yard size and I have to let it cool down. Never buying Greenworks again.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quiet

Hello Jim 197052. Thank you for sharing your concerns. We are sorry to hear about your experience with the 80V Riding Mower. An MR23 code indicates the right blade motor has overheated, which shuts off the blades to protect the system. Allowing the mower to cool, clearing debris from the deck, checking fully charged batteries, or adjusting mowing speed and height often resolves the issue. If the code continues, a dealer can run a diagnostic to determine the cause. We understand that taking the mower to a repair shop may not be ideal, and we apologize for any inconvenience this causes. We hope the dealer can get it fixed quickly and provide a clear explanation so you feel confident in the repair. If there is anything else, we can do for you please let us know or give us a call. 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS).

First of all, when I saw this mower in person it was much bigger and beefier than it appeared in pictures! The seat is extremely comfortable, and the steering wheel placement is convenient and out of the way when you get on and off the mower. I love the little cargo bed in back! Fantastic for hauling fertilizer, seed, or plants. I also love the exposed tubing all the way around the mower that makes it easy to tie it down to a trailer for transport. Also, the 2-in receiver in front lets you use this mower to move around a small trailer, or boat! It is so incredibly easy to use, that it makes mowing the lawn actually fun! Love the removable batteries system, and the three dual Port chargers! I mow two yards, and after I'm done with the second one I still have an indicated 83% charge.
To think that I'll never have to put gas in it, change the oil, replace a belt, for worry about whether it will start after sitting through the off season, absolutely justifies this purchase. I had to think for quite a while to come up with anything I would change. One minor thing that's not really a problem is, I would rather have a heel toe or two pedal forward and reverse system as opposed to the switch. It's no problem though. If you're thinking about an electric Rider with a good amount of cut, this is the one. I've done all the research for you. You don't want one with lead acid batteries! This has lithium ion batteries just like the electric cars on the road today.

Extremely Satisfied

I purchased this about a month ago and it has exceeded my expectations. The unit is much more rugged than I had expected and the battery life is exceptional. I have 3/4 of an acre where the house sits on a slight hill. The mower easily climbs the hill and navigates the entire yard without any issues. If I use all the batteries, I still have 75% left when finished. I may experiment using less batteries to better utilize their full extent.

Delivery was via FedEx, assembly was easy. Batteries charge to full in 90min on 3 separate circuits. Had some issues with error codes in the first few weeks, however customer service was responsive and quickly fixed the issue. Chalk it up to new technology/early adopter tax.

Things a Beast!

This thing is a beast. To be honest this is my first riding mower I’ve ever used, but I am so happy I went with the electric route.
I live on a half acre, and this mower allows me to mow my full lawn twice per charge. This mower just powers through my thickest grass, even when still wet and/or damp.
The batteries charge from totally empty to full in just a little over an hour, which is insanely fast in my opinion. A great perk to the electric riding mower is when the blades are not engaged, the tractor rides silent, making for very relaxing yard work sessions, and makes hauling yard waste/materials a breeze.
If you’re on the fence, go ahead and get this GreenWorks Mower, you will not be disappointed.

Pro 80V 42" CrossoverT - So Easy

Love this 80V Crossover Tractor. There is no way that a product could arrive damage. The packaging is met to keep it secure. Not being mechanically inclined I did run into problems with removing the bolts from the packaging. If the tool used to unfasten the bolt would be noted, I most likely would had less problems.
Once the product was up and running the experience has been great. The tractor runs great. I am mad gardener and constantly moving heavy things ( above 15 pounds, now as I age) so I have not used the grass cutting features. I have had a GW lawmower for years I use to cut the little grass remaining on my property. I had a gas powered zero turn mower for a few years and every year same problems with delays and more money spent to repair/maintain the lawn tractor I really appreciate the GW lawn tractor with little maintenance and of course all the other pros; less air and noise polution, quieter, GW great reputation as innovators, ease of use. I may be using the wrong term but the turn radius is a disappointment after using a zero turn. But on the other hand I think the tractor actually feels safer maneuvering around obstacles because I don't try to drive too close to stone walls which then damages tires.
Pros: Convenient, Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Quiet, Durable, Environmentally Safe, Effective, Powerful

Works well with my 2 acres
on April 9, 2022

My 2 acres has some slopes and flat areas. The 6 batteries gives me enough power to mow it. I have side discharge although mulch kit is included.
The only frustration is the forward/reverse switch and blade on reverse. I have to press and hold the button to keep the PTO running.
It’s easy to accidentally bump the front/reverse switch. I think it should be a lever like shifter of a car. It’ll be more intuitive. Also, the more should not free roll if in area. Be care and remember to put parking break on. As for the seat, I wish it’ll let me slide back more. I’m average height of 5’9” and it feels cramp for my leg to press the accelerator pedal.
I especially like the battery design as they are easily removed to charge and can be used in other Greenworks Tools 60v tools. Some other brand has a 1 piece giant battery pack than is hard and heavy to replace. Turn ratio is better than gas powered mower as there is more room in front, without the engine, for the front wheels to turn. My wife enjoys using the mower as an ATV.
