I highly recommend this mower. If your afraid of switching from gas to electric don’t be.This mower is every bit as powerful as my cub cadet that I used for eighteen years. My yard is nearly two acres. It not only mower the whole yard. I still had a forty eight percent charge left on the batteries when finished. The mower never bogged down at all.By all means buy it

I’ve used the mower about a month now. First, it’s most comfortable seat I’ve ever had for a riding mower. It cuts the grass very evenly and leaves a smooth finish. The batteries have held up as advertised. I have about 2 acres and Have charge to spare when done. Plus the batteries charge back quickly.

Great so far…

We have 5 acres with slope, rocks, and holes. The larger tires on this model have been great for handling rough areas without getting stuck. The mower has handled our tall field grass easily. Recharge time on the batteries is pretty quick. The mower has plenty of power for going up steep hills.
My only major knock is having to take all 6 batteries out to recharge. An onboard plug in would be much more convenient. Also, the instructions for putting on the mulcher are not good. Maybe something was lost in translation, but this needs major improvement, and I’m an avid do-it-yourselfer.
Overall, though, great mower so far. Love being able to recharge from our solar panels and not having to keep gas around. It cuts really well and is very quiet.

The best battery powered tractor on the market.

We are very impressed with how much fun we had putting it together, and driving it off the ramp. My husband didn’t want a new mower, but we’re getting older and I hate to get gasoline and smell in the car. He loves it and is sorry we didn’t get this mower sooner. Easy to use, charge, cut and does our bill with ease.

We bought this tractor 3 yrs ago. Going from a 1/3 acre to over 1 acre of hilly yard I am throughly impressed. I had to figure out the best way to mow so I had enough battery. At first I was near 10% when through mulch mowing now it’s anywhere from 20-30% battery left. I clean after ever mow underneath. I love the braking feature when going downhill as it won’t let you speed to fast which helps on the steep banks(30* slope) which I go down. Love it! Only negative is the parking brake hasn’t worked since we got it.
Pros: Convenient, Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Quiet, Durable, Effective, Powerful

Very Satisfied with this Mower

I bought this mower a couple of months ago. It came in like 2 days from my order and the shipping company was top notch. It comes on a shipping frame just like the Ryobi unit does.
This is my first riding mower, but I still was very impressed. I have a yard that has many hills that are much greater than the 15-degree incline that this mower is recommended to be limited to. (Mine are closer to 30 degrees and some more than that) That doesn't bother it one bit when you are going up a steep incline. My yard is about .3/4 to 1 acre of grass. It took me 53 minutes compared to the 2.5 hours before with a Honda self-propelled push mower with a 21" or so deck.
It is very quiet (no hearing protection required in my book) and really has a lot of power. On my first cut the battery life went from 100% down to ONLY 86%. I also very inefficiently cut the grass as it was my first time. I have effectively used the unit for 5 plus cuts and just joy riding without having had to charge the batteries.
ONE CRUCIAL DETAIL TO THE AVERAGE HOMEOWNER: The chargers draw up to 10 amps! This means you CANNOT charge all 6 batteries on a 20-amp circuit. I have tried and I trip my breaker. I have charged 4 successfully at a time on a 20-amp breaker in my shed. This could be a huge drawback or very inconvenient for some.
I think this mower would benefit from having a plug-in option instead of battery removal, but for my uninsulated shed this is just fine. For those wondering as I did, the rear hitch hole size is 5/8". I wish Greenworks would offer more attachments for this mower such as Cub Cadet or even Ryobi does. It would be good for them to at least put a compatibility chart or YouTube channel together so that we can understand what attachments work well for this product. For example: I would like to understand if I can retrofit a sleeve hitch to add a tiller to the unit. Would this create too more force that would twist the lighter weight frame of the unit? Since I have nothing to compare this to, I have given it a 5-star rating. Most of what I discuss I was aware of prior to purchasing the unit or had a hunch that could be the case. I hope Greenworks reads these reviews and looks to address some of the customer concerns to continue to grow as a top tier yard equipment provider.

I was skeptical about going electric, but I've been very satisfied with this mower. I have about 4 acres of mowing and I can usually get most of it done on 1 charge. The charging is super fast and the blades cut my fields and grass without issue. It's also fun to drive and I love how quiet it is. I have many hills and the electric motor is great at preventing spin outs or getting stuck. Just be careful of using cruise control on hills since it can really speed up fast after turning down hill.

Buyer Beware!

I've had this mower a little under two months and yesterday it suddenly stopped working. I was on the phone with support yesterday and today and they were very helpful troubleshooting, but my issue can't be resolved remotely. They found a certified shop that will repair it, but I will be responsible for negotiatiing transportation with the shop and will be on the hook for the expense of getting their broken product there, which is 30 miles away.
I was very pleased with the mower up until about noon yesterday. But I am beyond disappointed that A) the mower broke down so soon after purchase - I think I only used it 15 times or so, and B) that their warranty only covers parts and labor and not the entire expense of repairing their faulty product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
