Everything works great except for one burner seems to be very sensitive to the pot size, it has to be just right for it to work

Cooktop installed 3 weeks ago. We rarely eat out so I’ve given it a good workout already. My All-Clad and cast iron cookware all work well. Bought a nonstick griddle for the linked burner to replace a round anodized griddle. Pancakes browned unevenly despite a lengthy preheat but dang I cooked a bunch of them fast. Large burner is so powerful, it heats my 10” cast iron skillet in a couple of minutes on medium heat and quesadillas are done in less than 5 minutes. Looking forward to adding a pressure canner, it was a big motivation for the change and for buying this model. Very little learning curve compared to electric glass cooktop. Waiting for the Bluetooth skillet to arrive, it sounds ridiculous but will definitely try a few recipes for fun. Can’t speak to longevity yet. Minus 1 star for the solid black surface that shows every splash, drop and crumb. Wiping with a dishcloth leaves streaks. You really do have to use glass cooktop cleaner and a paper towel with maybe a spray of vinegar at the end to make it perfect. I’m not at all picky so to me it’s an annoyance. For others it will be a huge problem. This was a bit of a splurge for me after 5-6 years of thinking about it, and so far I’m very happy with the purchase.

The large burner of the cooktop failed on the second usage. The repair technician wasn't exactly singing the praises on reliability of this appliance, also noting that parts are VERY expensive. That said, service was easily arranged and the technician appeared well trained and very competent. The little we've used the cooktop (what works) has been, as expected, much better than the gas appliance it replaced.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The worst!

This cooktop is horrible! I bought it a month ago and I can’t cook properly. I have to turn it on 10 times until it works. It the worst cooktop I have ever had!!!!

Older GE cooktop much better designed

We got our first induction cooktop in 2011 and LOVED it. It was a GE, as well. We had to replace our oven which is the only reason we decided to replace the cooktop at the same time. This new GE cooktop is not nearly as wonderful as the old one. The burners are smaller and the 2 burners on the left are physically much closer together. It means you can't have a 3 or 4 quart pot on one of those burners and a mid sized skillet or dutch oven on the other burner, even if the bottom of the skillet or dutch oven is the right diameter for these burners. The sides of the skillet or dutch oven push up against the side of the 3 or 4 quart pot. This effectively means it is rare that one can use more than 2 burners at any given time. Also, if I adjust the timer, it will frequently turn off any burner that is on. And the timer alert is so low you can't hear it unless you are right next to it. We have been unable to find any menu settings to adjust the timer sound. We follow the directions that should bring up a menu setting but nothing happens.
