When using a smart pan, the precision temperature control helps the cooktop maintain a specific temperature – from 100 to 500 degrees. We're glad to hear you're enjoying your new cooktop and we're confident it'll continue to impress for years to come.

small pot surface area's 1inch smaller then our older cook top, instead of 1 8", 2 7" and 1 6", we got 1 7", 2 6" and 1 5" cooking surface areas. That makes a big difference when you are using pots sized for the older cook top.
Also the temp. usage settings only work on you purchasing new expensive pans. This made the purchase not worth it. Please do your research before buying.

We'd like to share some information about the type of cookware that is compatible with our induction burners. For your induction range to create heat, the bottom of the pan must contain some iron, which makes the pan able to attract a magnet. For the best results, use cookware made with magnetic stainless steel, enamel coated cast iron, enameled steel and combinations of these materials. Also, it can be important to use cookware that is appropriately sized to the burners, to make full contact with the burners. You can view more information on pages 17 and 18 in the manual here: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--pgMU6uZ0--/53418c06467eb7e6d5dd4a03056e1949bc7ffb51.pdf
