small pot surface area's 1inch smaller then our older cook top, instead of 1 8", 2 7" and 1 6", we got 1 7", 2 6" and 1 5" cooking surface areas. That makes a big difference when you are using pots sized for the older cook top.
Also the temp. usage settings only work on you purchasing new expensive pans. This made the purchase not worth it. Please do your research before buying.

We'd like to share some information about the type of cookware that is compatible with our induction burners. For your induction range to create heat, the bottom of the pan must contain some iron, which makes the pan able to attract a magnet. For the best results, use cookware made with magnetic stainless steel, enamel coated cast iron, enameled steel and combinations of these materials. Also, it can be important to use cookware that is appropriately sized to the burners, to make full contact with the burners. You can view more information on pages 17 and 18 in the manual here: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--pgMU6uZ0--/53418c06467eb7e6d5dd4a03056e1949bc7ffb51.pdf

When using a smart pan, the precision temperature control helps the cooktop maintain a specific temperature – from 100 to 500 degrees. We're glad to hear you're enjoying your new cooktop and we're confident it'll continue to impress for years to come.

inconsistent burners
on October 30, 2025

Left front and rear burners are the same wattage and supposed to be identical. However my 8" frypan works on the back burner but not the front. GE says it's the pan. I say it's the tolerances and that the front burner assembly has an issue. If you buy GE, know that some of your induction pans that have worked on inexpensive induction burners for years may not work on this expensive unit, but you will not get resolution from GE. I would not buy GE again.

We would like to help and provide some guidance about your induction cooktop. Induction cooking uses a high-frequency copper coil located just below the cooking surface that produces a magnetic field which causes the electrons in a ferrous metal pan to vibrate and produce heat. This is similar to the way that friction from rubbing your hands together produces heat to your hands. The strength of the magnetic field varies proportionally with the burner level setting, so essentially induction cooktops can be said to have "true proportional control". We have a great article that explain more in details from our website that we will link below.

We also have an article that goes into detail about the cookware you use and size as well titled "Electric Range & Cooktop - Induction Cookware Size and Shape" that we will link below for you to review. https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17368

Amazing Appliance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love the new induction cooktop! Controls are intuitive and the lack of heating elements greatly improve the ability to maintain a cool kitchen. The appliance arrived on time, well packed and exactly as advertised.

New model is worst
on September 11, 2025
Posted by: GunVag
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Based on the good performance of old (2015-22) GE Profile PHP9030SJSS, I replaced the same GE induction cooktop. Unfortunately the new model has below issues:
!) All my small pots working on the old model are not working on the new model.
2) The burners some time stop working.
3) High pitch sound comes while starting small burner when big burners is in use.

We recommend scheduling service with our Bodewell technicians to get this high-pitched sound properly addressed as well as the turning off/on of the burner when the pan is in full contact with the burner. You can schedule an appointment with a Bodewell technician by calling 833-4BODEWELL (833-426-3393) or schedule online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm

We have also provided some tips to help with correct cookware for your induction cooktop here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17368
