Excellent controls and sleek design

I can't believe I waited so long to switch to an induction cooktop! This appliance has completely transformed my cooking experience. From the moment I turned it on, I was blown away by how fast it heats up — water boils in mere minutes, and sautéing has never been more precise.
Temperature control is incredibly accurate, allowing me to simmer delicate sauces without fear of burning or jump straight to high heat for a perfect sear. The surface stays cool to the touch, which not only feels safer but also makes clean-up a breeze — no more scrubbing burnt-on spills!
Design-wise, it’s sleek, modern, and fits beautifully into my kitchen aesthetic. It’s also energy-efficient, and I’ve already noticed a difference in my electric bill. Plus, the child-lock and auto-shutoff features give me extra peace of mind.
Highly, highly recommend!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best induction cooktop at this price range

This is my first induction cooktop. I've been using it for a couple of months now and, so far, it's great. Much better than my old radiant heat glass cooktop.
The good: It boils water very fast and is very responsive to changing the temperature. It also feels like the heat recovers faster when I'm adding things to a pan. For instance, searing a roast - I can turn to all sides of the roast and it seems to sear it the same on all sides. With my radiant heat cooktop, it would sear the first side well because I had preheated the pot but every additional side, it seared less and less to the point where it just kind of turned into cooking and not searing. Spills are so much easier to clean than on a radiant heat cooktop.
The bad: First, temperature controls at the top end leave something to be desired. At the low end of the temperature controls, there's very fine controls so you can increase or decrease the heat very slightly. That's great but at the top end of the heat controls, there are larger temperature gaps between each adjustment up or down. This is a problem when I'm trying to control liquids. Cooking pasta for instance - sometimes I struggle to get the temperature at a good place for boiling. The water is either barely simmering or boiling to the point where it's splashing water out of the pot. And this is before even adding the pasta. Same kind of problem if I'm making a large pot of soup/stock or something.
Second, the buzzing. You've probably read about this with induction. It's definitely a thing and it's mostly a non-issue. When I'm using a large pot/pan and using anything less than 75% power, I don't really hear anything. But if I'm using a smaller pot, say 3 quarts, the buzzing is noticeable at anything above ~25% power. You get used to it I guess. Wish it wasn't a thing.
All in all, I would definitely choose induction again over the traditional radiant electric cooktops. For health/respiratory reasons, I would also choose induction again over gas cooktops. I think this particular cooktop the best available at this price range.

New model is worst
on September 11, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Based on the good performance of old (2015-22) GE Profile PHP9030SJSS, I replaced the same GE induction cooktop. Unfortunately the new model has below issues: !) All my small pots working on the old model are not working on the new model. 2) The burners some time stop working. 3) High pitch sound comes while starting small burner when big burners is in use.

Response from geappliances.comBy Adrian, GE_Appliances, September 12, 2025
We recommend scheduling service with our Bodewell technicians to get this high-pitched sound properly addressed as well as the turning off/on of the burner when the pan is in full contact with the burner. You can schedule an appointment with a Bodewell technician by calling 833-4BODEWELL (833-426-3393) or schedule online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love the new induction cooktop! Controls are intuitive and the lack of heating elements greatly improve the ability to maintain a cool kitchen. The appliance arrived on time, well packed and exactly as advertised.
