Best induction cooktop at this price range

This is my first induction cooktop. I've been using it for a couple of months now and, so far, it's great. Much better than my old radiant heat glass cooktop.
The good:
It boils water very fast and is very responsive to changing the temperature. It also feels like the heat recovers faster when I'm adding things to a pan. For instance, searing a roast - I can turn to all sides of the roast and it seems to sear it the same on all sides. With my radiant heat cooktop, it would sear the first side well because I had preheated the pot but every additional side, it seared less and less to the point where it just kind of turned into cooking and not searing. Spills are so much easier to clean than on a radiant heat cooktop.
The bad:
First, temperature controls at the top end leave something to be desired. At the low end of the temperature controls, there's very fine controls so you can increase or decrease the heat very slightly. That's great but at the top end of the heat controls, there are larger temperature gaps between each adjustment up or down. This is a problem when I'm trying to control liquids. Cooking pasta for instance - sometimes I struggle to get the temperature at a good place for boiling. The water is either barely simmering or boiling to the point where it's splashing water out of the pot. And this is before even adding the pasta. Same kind of problem if I'm making a large pot of soup/stock or something.
Second, the buzzing. You've probably read about this with induction. It's definitely a thing and it's mostly a non-issue. When I'm using a large pot/pan and using anything less than 75% power, I don't really hear anything. But if I'm using a smaller pot, say 3 quarts, the buzzing is noticeable at anything above ~25% power. You get used to it I guess. Wish it wasn't a thing.
All in all, I would definitely choose induction again over the traditional radiant electric cooktops. For health/respiratory reasons, I would also choose induction again over gas cooktops. I think this particular cooktop the best available at this price range.

Excellent controls and sleek design

I can't believe I waited so long to switch to an induction cooktop! This appliance has completely transformed my cooking experience. From the moment I turned it on, I was blown away by how fast it heats up — water boils in mere minutes, and sautéing has never been more precise.
Temperature control is incredibly accurate, allowing me to simmer delicate sauces without fear of burning or jump straight to high heat for a perfect sear. The surface stays cool to the touch, which not only feels safer but also makes clean-up a breeze — no more scrubbing burnt-on spills!
Design-wise, it’s sleek, modern, and fits beautifully into my kitchen aesthetic. It’s also energy-efficient, and I’ve already noticed a difference in my electric bill. Plus, the child-lock and auto-shutoff features give me extra peace of mind.
Highly, highly recommend!

Had an older 2015 GE induction which I loved. Glass broke and got one in 2023 that is horrible. Burners vary when and if they will accept pan size. Burners despite multiple settings are too hot or not hot enough! Old one really did have 20 settings. I would say this has 3! Very disappointed. Looking for a replacement .
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Better than the competition

This is our second induction cooktop, the first being from another manufacturer that only lasted 5 years.
We love the new GE Profile cooktop and enjoy it way more than our last one. The controls are easier to understand and use, and makes cooking much more fun.

Induction dream

I’m new to induction and have only had this cook top a few weeks. But I love it. It is both very precise and powerful as it heats the pan quickly and evenly. I can listen to the boil on the bottom of the pan for clues on whether it’s hot enough or too hot. And the user interfaces /look is clean and classy. Pleased with this purchase.
