Wonderful cooktop -- Easily damaged

We have had our induction cooktop for 45 days. While preparing breakfast, an OXO plastic storage container clipped the edge of the cooktop and shattered the edge and broke the glass near the far-left side. I would never have suspected a
While cooktop has been wonderful, there needs to be something on the edge to protect the cooktop. A small nearly empty plastic storage container should not be able to destroy a cook top built for cast iron cookware.

Cosmetic faults

The dial controls degrade over time. There is also cosmetic degradation which is not under warranty. Very poor!

Love the induction cooking

Very classy look. Nice clean controls. Intuitive. Nice features. Cooking on it is just as good as on a gas stove and is much more responsive than a radiant heat electric stove. Not difficult to find compatible pots and pans. Would not go back to conventional radiant heat.
I would recommend this to a friend!
