Works perfectly with ADT Security Home Control App & Command Center Center Console. The key alike feature is also a bonus. Easy to set new codes for guests after having the Master Code. Random Digit feature "pressing 2 random numbers prior to entering code" gives extra level of security.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Never been overjoyed with it. The touchpad has always been clunky to use. My family was not overjoyed the day I installed it bc it was weird to use. It eats batteries! Only 3 months this last time. I'm done. It's going in the trash.

1. Open the door and place the latch in the locked position. Remove the interior cover and loosen the mounting bolts a quarter turn.
2. Replace the batteries in the battery holder and complete the manual door handing process to recalibrate the latch: https://youtu.be/jhE5Nilog54

You cannot connect this lock directly to your phon

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You cannot connect this lock directly to your phone without additional hardware. I would have never bought it if I knew this. I wanted a lock that I can easily let people in or confirm it is locked. This is NOT one to buy. I always buy kwikset locks for myself and I recommend them to my customers. I may not now after this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not compatible with Alexa

I bought this lock because it said it was compatible with Alex and it is not. It requires the Kwikset app download, but because this device does not work with Bluetooth, it won't connect to my phone or Alexa Echo. They should not advertise it that it is compatible with Alexa unless you get an external hub that translates the frequency

916 is can't be added to Alexa directly with out an external hub device.

We're here to help! The SmartCode 916 Z-Wave lock must first be paired with a Z-Wave hub or security system before you can pair it with Alexa. Some examples of Z-Wave compatible systems are Samsung SmartThings, Wink, Ring Alarm System, Vivint, and ADT. Once the lock is paired to one of these systems, you will be able to integrate the lock with Amazon Alexa. Constantly goes offline and drains the battery

I am using Nighthawk R6700v3 router, if i am at home able to connect via app other wise it goes offline and drains the battery

We're here to help! The batteries should last between 6 and 12 months in the lock, depending on usage. To improve the battery life and connectivity, please follow these steps:
1. Use name-brand alkaline batteries, avoiding lithium and rechargeable batteries. 2. Check that your door is properly aligned and that the door frame jamb hole is a full 1 inch deep and clear for the latch to extend fully into the jamb hole. 3. Love the lock but it’s a pain

I wish I could rate it higher, it’s a frustrating lock it takes forever for the screen to acknowledge that you are touching it, hopefully I don’t need to get into my home quickly. But on the plus side I have this lock integrated with Alexa and ADT I just have to use either app or voice command to lock or unlock the door. Which is really helpful considering I would stand at the door for a while trying to get the screen to respond.
I would recommend this to a friend!
