Simply and Secure

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After having the Kwikset Halo touch smart lock installed for the last few days, I thought it would be a good time to write a review about our experience with it. From the time that we opened the box, it was a simple and rather pleasant experience getting it installed and then secured.
Note: Our door was pre-drilled. The lock has a guide for the exact requirements to drill out a solid door.
I followed the included instructions and started by removing the old deadbolt we had in place. This was easy. From there, pay attention to the distance the doorhandle hole is away from the edge of the door as this will determine which configuration you need for deadbolt itself as it's adjustable. I thought I would have to modify the current drilled hole until I realized this.
Once I got the deadbolt in place, it was a simple matter of installing the external finger-print reading side of the lock and running the cable back inside. After this, it's held in place by a mounting plate that the interior unit connects to. All in all, it was a far simpler installation that I expected it to be.
When we initially tested it, it was getting stuck and jamming. Try adjusting the loosening and tightening screws on the deadbolt (edge of the door) and see if that helps. We were able to get it to close and open within the Kwikset app without fail after this. One other thing, use the supplied strikeplate and make sure to run the supplied screws into the wood of the door frame. This will give you far better security and performance. 2 pieces of duct-tape can help hold it in place while you drill.
Finally, the app itself was easy to get installed and configured. After pairing the lock via bluetooth, the app updated the firmware on the lock and we were ready to register fingerprints. Overall, it's been a great experience. I'm interested in seeing how long the batteries last. It's nice to know that when we're in town we can make sure our door at home is locked!

Kwikset Touch Lock is a great addition to security

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently installed Kwikset - Halo Touch Contemporary Fingerprint Wi-Fi Enabled Smart Lock on my front door and love it. The install itself was very easy and did not take long at all. You have to also down load a app which is very basic but does what it needs to do. It sends me a notification when someone opens door. I really like this feature because it lets me know when the kids are home. I would highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this door smart lock it was so easy to set up and it also was very explanatory on the instructions as well to get it set up. I love how sleek and clean the design is as well. I love how easy it is to scan your fingerprint on the device and app. It let's you add as many people as you need up to 50. I love you can lock and unlock the door using your app. All in all it works really well and its so convenient to just use your fingerprint instead of mess with a key. I highly recommend trying this out you will not be dissapointed.

Awesome 21st Century Security Solution

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Kwikset Smart Lock a few weeks ago as part of my ongoing project to redo my older house. As part of this process, I installed a brand new front door, and was interested in this lock as a security-enhancement (there has been a rash of break-ins in my area recently). I am super happy with my decision - Not only does the lock provide some 21st Century solutions such as fingerprint tech, integration with my Alexa, and mobile accessibility via an app, but the aesthetic is fantastic - sleek, but not outlandishly. It fits in well with my more traditional-looking home, but would also look great on a more modern property. I highly recommend!

Finally Got It To Work!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After hours of trouble shooting and two phone calls to customer support, I was able to successfully install this beautiful door lock.
The installation process was simple enough. I work in the construction industry and have installed hundreds of door locks over the years. This lock is simple to install and the instructions are easy to follow.
The difficulty came in the technical aspects and features of this product. The app was easy to download and instructions were clear. However, there came a point in the setup process where the software failed and would not allow me to proceed. The lock would still respond to remote signals, but the fingerprint functionality was not working.
During my first call the customer support, they guided me through a reset of the hardware. At this point the door lock could not be added back to the app. We tried numerous times and swapped out the batteries. Eventually I lost connection to customer service rep and called back later.
During the second call, we reset the lock, removed the device from my Bluetooth and tried to reinstall it. Still nothing. The rep suggested I turn my phone off and back on again. After cycling my phone off and on, the lock added back to the app and allowed me to add my fingerprints.
The lock now functions perfectly. It opens quickly with the touch of a finger. It can be programmed with multiple users and is customizable to grant access at specific times or days. Perfect for the in-laws, dog walker or handyman. The door can also be opened anytime from the app.
Overall a beautiful, contemporary door lock. Very pleased once I was able to work through the technical issues.

No need to make ton of keys

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a lot of family that I let go in my house when I’m not home, and my kids are never home at the same time. Let’s just say there’s a lot of traffic in and out of my home and I can’t hardly ever lock my door because of it. I’m loving the Halo touch fingerprint smart lock. I can finally start locking my door, which gives me peace of mind, when I’m not home. It has easy to read instructions and operates though your WiFi. I can put up to 50 users (100 fingerprints) access to get in, and it’s beautifully well made. Make sure to download the Kwikset app because that app has became my new best friend. I would definitely recommend this product.
