massive improvement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So as a builder I have gone through several of these "smart" locks. This one is by far the best that Kwikset has produced. The lock can read your fingerprint and unlock the door quickly, comparable to the speed that it would take you to unlock the door with your keys. This to me is a big selling feature because I personally would never use the smart feature of the lock if just using my keys is faster. My keypad lock takes so long to get into that I tend to leave the door unlocked more often just because I don't want to hassle with it. Another big positive is that you for sure know that whoever is getting into your house is the person who's fingerprint you registered. If you give out a code to house cleaner, how do you know its going to be the same house cleaner using that code every time? This rolls into a small negative, and that is that you have to meet up with every person you want to give access too in order to register their fingerprint. Over all these are just things I wanted to put out there for the readers of this to contemplate to figure out if this will be the best device for you as well. Most fingerprint scanners will have these same pro's and cons. I have been using Kwikset for a long time and this unit feels just as robust as their other products that I have now owned and used for over 3 years with out any issues.

Easy Install and works well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little worried the finger print scanner would be inconsistent and annoying but it's worked every time. When I installed the lock it was very easy to do. There are printed directions you can follow or you can do the step by step ones in the app. Even the box had each step separated into little boxes so you don't mix up screws or anything. I wasn't so sure also about the security with google home. I have google speakers all over my home and thought any burglar could just tell google to unlock my doors, but google asks for a pin so that's fantastic! Very smart! I put this lock on my garage because I'll never need friends or neighbors to go in there. If I did, I'd need to have them set up as finger print in the app before leaving town. Otherwise a lock with numbers would make more sense. Lastly, the ability to change the key was great. The rest of my house locks are also kwikset so I'm glad this lock now uses my same key.

The Future of Locks!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking to install a lock where I did not need to hide a key outside. I saw this beautiful Kwikset Contemporary Fingerprint enabled Smart Lock and felt this was the right option for me. First, this lock is manufactured by Kwickset, a company that is leader in locks. Second, the lock design was clean and modern. Additionally, I did not need to buy an addition hub for this lock to work. I just needed my existing WiFi home network plus my smartphone plus this Halo Touch smart lock. It was easy to install the lock with the provided instructions. You will need to download the Kwikset app from Apple App Store or Google Play. Following the instructions to setup the lock was straightforward and setting up biometric fingerprints was easy. While I did not pair this lockset with Alexa but you do have option to pair it with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for voice activated control of this lock. The associated app allows you to control access even via date and time. This allows you to set entry for a house keeper without having to give a key. I also like the fact that the lock store up to 50 user fingerprints in a secure encrypted location in the memory of the lock without risk of it being stolen from the cloud. Managing the users is easy with the Kwikset App. As a failsafe backup, this lock also uses a standard smartkey. This allows user the option to rekey the lock themselves. This is a fantastic feature saving you tons of money versus paying a locksmith to rekey or the cost of purchasing a new lock. I highly recommend this Kwickset Halo Fingerprint and Key lock!

The Ultimate in Modern!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] How cool is this? We are able to enter our house using a fingerprint only, and this Smart Lock enables you to have up to 50 users, although we will never need that many. In addition, you can also use a traditional key.
So, this keypad utilizes our home WiFi network which means that any extra expenditure is not necessary for a separate hub. We had to download the Kwikset App which enabled us to manage our users on my Smart phone. It also enables other functions like monitoring activity and receiving notifications. Believe it or not, it is also possible to use Amazon's Alexa and Google Assistant to operate the door lock. I have Google Assistant on my phone, and it works perfectly with the Smart Lock. If desired, I can also set a date range for individual users. This will be particularly useful when we go on vacation and employ a house sitter. Once they no longer need access, their fingerprint will no longer work.
The unit I have has a satin nickel finish and it matches the rest of the hardware on my door. It also has a contemporary feel to it. It is the ultimate in door hardware.

Amazingly easy!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for the entry for of my garage. I'm amazed at how easy it was to install and set up. We use our garage entry for,among other things, bringing in the groceries so the fingerprint option is so convenient. Manual code is great for when the kids need something when we're not home and for delivery drivers. Real heavy and secure unit that looks great and performs even better!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a great product. My wife and daughter gave me so much trouble over putting this in but now they LOVE it. The finger print is an easy and efficient means of making entry, but one of the greatest features is the APP integration. Being able to access the lock remotely is fantastic and value added for sure.

You can so many fingerprints on it with your family and friends and don’t have to worry about someone else getting your 4 digit code or numeric code. Because the only way it works is with your trusted family member with THEIR fingerprint! We have our 9 TRUSTED family members on it and it works every time time! Love it!

The online set up was super easy and linking my fingerprint was fast! Locking and unlocking with my finger is a lot easier than digging for my keys when I have an armfull of groceries. This is a great product!!
