The second gen is great. It keeps the grind mess extremely low. I pair it with my Moccamaster brewer and it produces a delicate, sweet, discernible coffee.

One of the Best Brew Grinders Available

The Fellow Ode 2 Brew Grinder is a great for anyone who loves brew coffee. The grinder delivers super-consistent grounds, making it super easy to dial in for pour-over and French press. I appreciate how quiet it is compared to other grinders which is helpful for morning coffee with a young sleeping family. Adjustment is super easy too as the dial is large and easy to read. If you want to upgrade your grinder, the Ode 2 should be on your short list.

Ode Upgrade

The Ode Gen 2 was a carefully selected upgrade from my baratza encore with upgraded burr set. There where several features I was specifically looking for and the Ode matched them perfectly with specific features to address these deficiencies.
1: Static buildup causing mess. The encore has no ionization feature and generates a huge amount of static, even with some water spritzing. This caused huge amounts of mess when I would grind.
2: Speed. The encore, even when freshly cleaned, just took too long to grind. Taking minutes to grind my usual 32g in the morning. The ode does this in less than 15 seconds.
3: Grind consistency. Even with upgraded burrs, the Encore still had a large number of fines and boulders. With the flat burrs in the Ode, this has been improved significantly.
4: Pour over optimization. The encore's stepping wasn't as consistent or evenly distributed as I would like. The ode is designed for pour-overs. My morning cups have never been better.

Ode to Joy-ous coffee

Bought this so I would no longer have to keep adjusting my niche zero between espresso and pour over. This grinder has helped step up my pour over game. Great grinder with easy adjustment.

Ode 2 is awesome for my daily grind

The Ode 2 is a fantastic grinder. I use it daily and enjoy the predictability for my pour-over or brew. The machine is quieter and much easier to clean than my previous machine. The matte white still looks new after months of daily use.

Fast, reliable grinder

I have been using this grinder every morning for about 5 months now and I am very satisfied. I wanted a high quality grinder to use for pour over coffee that was dead simple to use first this in the morning and that's exactly what I got. It's been very reliable and relatively mess free. When the humidity is low in my house I do find giving the coffee beans a spritz of water helps stop the grinds from static clinging to the underside of the grinder and making a mess but if you live in a humid climate you may not have that problem at all. My only criticism is that the removable front plate of the grinder is just loose enough to jingle a little when it grinds but it only takes about 5 seconds to grind so it's not a big deal.
