My new precious!

I've used this grinder for a week and it has wildly improved my home coffee experience! As an ex-barista, I miss cafe-level coffee quality at home. This grinder + good beans = amazing pour overs, and little noise! Take it from me (and James Hoffmann) - if you're looking for a great grinder at this price point or higher, just get this one. You won't regret it!

Massive upgrade

I have the gen 2 burrs. I upgraded from a Capresso Infinity. The improvement in my coffee's taste is shockingly large. I'm stunned.
The machine is a joy to use. Interacting with it in the morning is a delight. The sound is mellifluous. I can feel the attention that went into the design, from the way the cup works, to the little lever to knock loose the last grounds. There are minds on the other side of this that love coffee and brewing coffee like I do, and they are communicating with me each time I use it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Some background - I’ve been using a Niche Zero, which is a nice traditional espresso-focused conical burr grinder, for a few years now, both for espresso and pour over. I bought the Ode since I’ve heard that it’s better for pour over than the Niche with better flavor separation, mainly since it’s a flat burr design.
Maybe I get a little bit more out of my pour overs on the lighter roast side but it hasn’t been really noticeable. Also, I’ve had to take the Fellow apart twice in the 6 or so weeks I’ve had it, to clear jams. I’ve never had to do that with the Niche. It also seems to retain a lot of grounds. I’m banging on that knocker and the body of the grinder in general, all while it’s running and adjusting the dial, to try to get as much out of it as I can.
I think it’s a fine, but temperamental, grinder if you don’t have anything to compare it to. That being said, other people clearly seem to like it. Just my experience. Maybe I don’t have a sophisticated enough palate for a flat burr.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Game changer! All I do is Pourover and filter coffee and this is exactly what I needed. It gives me more control over my grind and is bringing out more flavor in my cup.
I love the automatic shut off. I love how FAST and QUIET it is. I love the dosing cup. And the grinds knocker helps me get down to almost ZERO retention.
AND it looks great on my bar!

The Ode 2 lives up

The Ode 2 lives up to the hype. It perfectly grinds my beans for whatever brewing method I choose. My pour-overs, drip brews, and French press have turned out perfectly since I started using the Ode 2. I had a good burr grinder before but the Ode 2 takes the consistency of the grind to a new level.
