I really like the upgrade on the Ode brew grinder Gen 2 . Increasing the capacity was a huge plus , It’s also remarkably quite and quick with precision grind quality .
If this grinder isn't whisper quiet it's much less noisy than my Baratza, which is loud enough to wake the dead. But that's only the beginning of the Ode Brew's charms. In short, attention has been paid to every detail of this device, from its spill-free, magnetic catch jar, to the grinder instructions printed on the underside of the hopper lid. Yes, it's expensive, but picture this: you just woke up, you already have to suffer the interminable wait before you can bring a rejuvenating sip of joe to your lips. Do you really want to be wiping your counter free of grind mess on top of everything else? That's what I thought. Sell whatever you've got to sell to get your hands on this.
Best grinder I have owned! It is quiet compared to most grinders and the technology of static and shape of the coffee container has me sold! I love not having to clean up a confetti coffee all over my counter top! The bean integrity is great too! This is an all around must have. I’m thinking about buying one for my office too! The price is steeped than most grinders, but in my opinion, it is worth it.
I'm pretty happy with this grinder! There seems to be little to no retention, and microfines are minimal on a finer grind setting (courser grind has next to no fines). The anti static feature is awesome, and I actually like the catch cup with the fins to help when pouring out the grinds. My only complaint is that the metal faceplate was rattling like a jackhammer when grinding until I stuck a little plastic spacer between it and the body, and now the rattle is gone.
