Grinder produces a remarkable clarity in my brews that previous grinders have not achieved. The improvements to reducing static and quite noticeable and a great addition. Highly recommend for those looking to take the next step in pourover coffee.
This grinder rocks it. I was introduced to Fellow in a hotel, of all things (Corvo kettle). I was impressed by the simplicity and quality. I immediately bought a pour-over set. I've been happy with that so decided to plunk down some coin to upgrade my game with the Ode 2. I have not been disappointed. It grinds faster and quieter than I expected. Very happy with the build quality and features (like the magnetically aligned catch, and I feel so professional with the grinds knocker! 😂). There's not really anything I don't like about it. Looking forward to many years of use. If you don't already have one, consider bundling with the Tally Pro scale. I found that very useful, as a still-budding pourer master.
Love this grinder. It is soooo much more quiet than the one I have. It is also very quick to grind the beans. I wish there was a way to stop the fly away debris but small price to pay for freshly ground beans
Ode Brew Grinder Gen 2 is just amazing, I don't know how I have been living without this machine my entire life. It's the best thing I've ever bought in my life.
I had heard about the Ode Fellow from many coffee enthusiast. I wasn't sure what the whole rave was about, until I got my hands on one. I must give this product 10/10. Its design it's sleek, simple and best at what it does; grind coffee to make a delicious cup of coffee.
Bought one for the office. Despite having an EG-1 w/ ULF burrs at home, I look forward to a cup or three from the Ode at work.
Coffee is reliably sweet and smooth; nice rounded finish; not the most flavor clarity but discernible and pleasant acidity. Very forgiving. Also, sweet. Did I mention sweet? We brew the gamut of roast levels and processing methods. It's been consistently great. Grind times are hilariously fast.
Downsides: hopper lid is warped and doesnt fit. Catch cup lid is equally ill-fitting. Very incongruent with an otherwise solidly built/robust body.
Some minor workflow issues: Wish it shipped with a chopstick, because you occasionally have to encourage beans that resist feeding by the auger. And while the auto-shutoff is a great idea, it is often premature. Would be nice to have a mode to disable the auto-shutoff.
Adjustment detentes are three per number. Weird.
Definitely needs seasoning. Really disliked the coffee out of the box; took about 2-3kg before the sweetness and balance punched through.
But in general these are minor nits. It's easy to love this grinder. Really great, approachable coffee. And sweet.
