Don't buy unless you're a tinkerer

Had it for less than a month and already two catastrophic jams. I needed to follow the directions to disassemble the machine down to the burrs, and thoroughly brush out all the grounds. I expected more, certainly higher quality for the price listed. FYI, I mainly use it for french press (coarse grind), with a dark roast.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Terrible quality x 2

Terrible product. This was a replacement for the one I bought that stopped functioning after 3 months. The first day I plugged this in it immediately didn’t work and made a terrible jammed sound (had not ground a single bean yet). I’m still trying to get fellow to refund me so I can buy a more reliable product.

The grinder is nice and quiet. It grinds great but the beans get caught in the hopper constantly. Everything is clean and it gets caught. For the price this should not be happening. Bad hopper design. The auto shut off shuts off to soon consistently. Even when it’s grinding it will shut off. I would not recommend for the price. Everything else works flawlessly.

excellent grinding

got this about a week ago. Grinding is great, fast, and the non static feature on the cup also works wonders to keep the grinder from making a mess. I don't give it 5 starts because it has a lot of coffee retention. I've put 18 g of coffee and gotten 17 g afterwards.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Maintenance heavy

I’ve have both Ode Gen 1 and 2, and the design is beautiful and I love how quiet it is, but it takes too much maintenance. After about six weeks the grounds get stuck, even after clearing them. You have to disassemble the grinder to get them out, which would have been ok, but each time I cleared it and reassembled the grinder still stuck, or ran and ground the beans unevenly. I even recalibrated it. Fellow had to replace my grinder several times, and each grinder did the exact same thing. I’ve never experienced this with a cheap grinder. I am sad this didn’t work out, I loved how it look and aesthetic is my top priority in a product.
I hope they come out with a fix for this soon!

It's just okay - clogs occasionally

The Ode Gen 2 is really nice to look at on my countertop and seems to do a pretty good job with consistent grinds, but for the money I would expect the hopper/grinding chamber not to clog as often as it does. I'd say one out of every 8-10 grinds (of 30g max to this point) it shuts off early without grinding all of the beans - even when the beans have been shuttled down into the grinding chamber. Again, it's fine and I can still get it to work after additional agitation or tipping, but I'd say the grinder is just okay. It feels like aesthetics were prioritized slightly above functionality, which is maybe more important that grinding to some. I'm sure Gen.2 is better than Gen.1, but If I were to need another grinder right now I'd definitely look for something different.

Dissapointing

The grinder hasn't worked properly from day one. Grind quality is abysmal and it makes a weird noise and starts to shake when I turn it on. The coffee it produces is bitter and my v60 clogs if I even try to get a somewhat fine grind. My 75 dollar normcore hand grinder has less fines than this one and never clogged the v60 even with very fine grinds. Customer support basically told me to go buy a bunch of tools and sent me a youtube video and told me to fix it myself. Never buying from this company again. Very skeptical of all the positive reviews.
