This is my first burr grinder and overall it’s been making great Pour Over/French Press coffee for me.
Compared to the old and very cheap blade grinder (yuck) that I had borrowed from someone before I knew how bad they were… the particle size uniformity and ease of use of this machine is vastly superior.
There is a small amount of retention but I did get a water spritzer and will say that I can notice the small difference when I spray my beans before vs not but sometimes I’m lazy and the difference isn’t always worth it.
The build quality and aesthetics are great in my opinion. Even the knocker feels solid, even though it’s a bit loud to use. The grinding itself is relatively quiet though so there’s a bit of tension there. Like what’s the point of a quiet grinder when knocking it is so loud?
Overall, I am very satisfied after the first few weeks of ownership.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So I don’t understand why the receptacle is not big enough to catch without overfilling when the 30 second grind is used?! Forget about 60 seconds!

About a month into ownership and this thing has clogged three times already. Once I figured out the issue after the initial clog, I have no problem clearing it and moving on (until it clogs again). I have wasted soooo much Kona coffee with this thing! While it is a fantastic product when it’s hot clogged, I expect more for something at this price point.

Can’t do maintenance, cause you can’t take it apart

Don’t try to work on. Threads so bad you can’t put it back together. One screw so overtightened I couldn’t get it completely apart. Now I can’t even get it back together. Piece of junk.

Very high ground retention

Abysmal retention-- you have to manually clean it out after every 2-3 grinds because the grind retention is so bad. Only recommend if you stick to one bean and you do course grinding; definitely not recommended for espresso.
Even with some generous water spritzing, our regular, oily, dark roast is a nightmare to grind. I hated our old Mr Coffee grinder for its lack of control yet this grinder has taught me new ways and reasons to hate grinding coffee. I spend more time spritzing, gently dropping beans, or poking things into a hopper using a fork or knife than I ever would have considered for a grinder that costs over ten times my old one which worked fine. Super disappointed.
