Beautiful and heat works nicely, but design lacking.

The kettle is beautiful and the heat source is accurate and efficient. My gripes come with the fact that when held at what I think is a normal pouring angle, this kettle drips from the lid. Beyond that the following has to do with me not doing enough research/thinking through the purchase as fully as I should have: Note that this kettle holds ~1/2 the liquid of most electric tea kettles. Further, while probably obvious and intended from the design, it pours very slowly. I just wish I had realized these/done more research before purchasing.

Boils quickly, has amazing pour control. No drips. Pleasing aesthetic, fit, and finish. Love the wood handle. As a gooseneck kettle, this kettle has a slow pour rate. This is great for pour control, and inherent to the gooseneck style, but something to be aware of!

Like the non-electric original model I bought back in the day more. This one feels larger and less elegant, lid goes on less smoothly though maybe it’s for a better seal. It does heat fast and I like the hold function so life is easier as you don’t have to monitor as closely, but aesthetically I’m not sure I love it like my prior. Don’t love that you have to pay shipping to return.

Love this kettle. Admittedly I purchased based on aesthetics (and workmanship/reputable company). as stated, it is designed for pour over coffee; I just needed to replace our kettle and we use a french press- so pouring takes an extra minute i.e. not quick. I take the extra 100 seconds to as a conscious reminder to breathe, slow down, haste makes waste:)
Would have given 5 stars BUT, as i read in another review, mine does leak water from the lid ( when full and tilted such that the water reaches the lid - again, if poured super slowly, maybe the water line never reaches the lid).
LOVE the little sentiments in the manual, packaging, design...clever and fresh!
