I really like this kettle.

I really like this kettle. It's beautiful, functions well, and has adjustable temp settings. My main issue with the kettle is it has a plastic cap on top of the metal lid. This cap has small holes for hot water to pass through and the steam hits the plastic and condensates and could fall back between the holes into the boiling water. Also condensation gets trapped between the lid and the cap and requires cleaning out. I'm disappointed the lid cap is black plastic and not black painted metal like the rest of the kettle. I am disappointed that on the website I never saw mention of a plastic cap and it isn't shown in pictures. It's almost like it's hidden on purpose because people buying this kettle don't want hot water in contact with plastic that's why they're spending so much on a seemingly all metal Electric kettle. Even the website description says lid material: metal. It doesn't mention that it's half plastic from what I've seen. I find that dishonest and disappointing. When you release a stagg ekg redesign, ditch the plastic lid cover. It feels cheap and doesn't match the rest of the product. I have removed the plastic lid cap and now use the kettle without it. It functions well and no plastic dripping hot water in my kettle. Thank you.

It’s nice looking but it pours quite slowly (and leaks if you try to pour too quickly). It also smells like burning plastic the first several times you use it. The button is a bit finicky too— I’ll regularly have to click it several times before it turns on.

Heats water really fast and is beautiful to look at. Great balance and provides a nice pour.
Why not 5 stars you ask? Because about 40% of the time the power button needs to be pushed more than once to get the heating element to turn on. Silly but frustrating.

Love this kettle with just two small complaints

We really love this kettle and the pink color we chose is really fun in our kitchen. Being able to set the temperature has been so helpful as we started drinking more tea this year and need different temps for different teas and coffee to taste right. Just two small complaints: 1) This kettle draws so much electricity that in our old apartment it makes the lights pulsate as it draws to the end of the heating. We can't really use the hold button for this reason, either. We can't boil water and use the toaster oven at the same time. While this is more an issue with our apartment, it's something to note if you live in a place with old wiring. 2) The button to turn on and off is a little precarious and I think it could feel more sturdy / expensive for the price of the kettle. Unless you push directly in the center it might not work, or sometimes you end up starting the timer when you don't mean to just because you're trying to turn it off. All that being said, we are very happy with our purchase and I would buy it again even knowing these things!

The only problem with the kettle is the on/off button doesn't always work. You have to press several times for it to turn on. Thinking abt getting it replaced.
