Amazing Kettle

I searched around for a good gooseneck kettle to find one that is true to its temperature gauge and found lots of folks saying the Stagg was the best. So far I think this has played out perfectly for me. I just have three small things I notice when I use the kettle.
One: the max-fill line is on the handle side of the kettle, so while you're filling it at the faucet, unless you hold it uncomfortably, you can't see the line. Over time this is less important because I've figured where the line is and just estimate and check before I put it on the base to heat, but it was something I noticed initially that seemed like a less-than-ideal design choice.
And two: the nearness of the temperature knob to the kettle. This is being totally knit picky, but if you're not careful and the kettle is hot, it's easy to bump your fingers on the kettle because there is so little space between the knob and the kettle. Obviously there are strategies to avoid this, so it's not the worst thing ever.
Three: the lid is totally flat and it will collect moisture after being used. So if you go to set it down on the counter while you fill up the kettle, it will stick.
These are all really small things, none of which are deal breakers. It is an amazing kettle and I'm glad I purchased it.

Everything is great about it. Only two minor complaints: 1) The max line would be better if it was opposite the handle, so it's easier to see when filling from a faucet; and 2) the off/on button seems a little flimsy. Sometimes I have to firmly press it, sometimes not.

EKG is perfect for Me

Based on a recommendation I purchased this kettle. Sure it’s a little pricey but it is well worth it. Style, functionality and water literally “dialed in” to quickly heat and hold to a precise temperature. The construction is high quality. The spout is perfect for pour overs or for tea. I am very pleased with this super-duper kettle. Thanks Fellow!

Beautiful, heavy but a small flaw in handle should be corrected

The Stagg is a beauty so the "form and function" attribute is awesome. It has some features that I find useful, like the countdown timer and temperature hold but there are some design issues that should be addressed.
1. There is a metal wrap between the handle and the kettle that conducts heat and you can hurt yourself if you touch it. I had to wrap mine in photographer's tape to continue to use it and it worked great.
2. The Max indicator on the inside is by the handle, not the spout. So when you go to fill it with water, you can't see it...not a major flaw but a thoughtless one.
3. My hot plate was so temperamental I had to send it back for a new one that was only slightly less temperamental. Sometimes a double-tap is required, sometimes unplug and plug it back in. Customer service was responsive, a plus.

Mainly got for gongfu cha

Got the matte black with walnut handle and altho pricey, I thought I’d want to upgrade my tea experience as it’s important to me. It’s fun to see what at temps I’m steeping the leaves and to gradually increase. I mainly practice gongfu cha with the kettle, as I find the slower pour to be more exact. For other herbal remedies or when I need lots of hot water then I’ll use my other kettle with a larger spout. Recommend the purchase if you have the budget.

Only thing that could make it better is sound, such as a beep, to indicate that the water has reached the set temperature.
