The handle is advertised as wooden. In reality it looks like plastic with “wood design on it” which cheapens the whole look of the kettle. Everything else seemed top notch. This one was returned, ordered the Studio version instead, hoping for better quality there.

Wooden Lid Pull cracks and falls off

The wooden knob on top of my lid has split/cracked and comes off when I try to remove the lid from the kettle. Have replaced it multiple times and same thing. Replacement knobs only come in a kit with the handle so you have to shell out even more extra money for a design flaw problem. This is very unfortunate because otherwise it's beautiful and works well. Just can't stand behind a product with such an obvious problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

You have to pour ver slowly out of the spout or else there is the risk of water spilling out. No well engineered.

No freakin way I’m giving this thing up now that I have it. Using it every day 2x/day. When my dog has to go outside in the middle of the boil, it’s fine because it’ll hold temp for me. My process is less stressful and I’m making objectively better coffee.

Coming from using a more affordable, different brand electric kettle with a ton less features for the last couple years, the feel of the kettle while you are using it and the amount of control I have over my pour now makes it all worth it alone. In addition to the many other very useful features, you will not be disappointed with the EKG!
