The Stagg EKG is great. It heats water up fast and makes it very easy to do a pour over with the kettle design. It also looks great and I am very happy with this purchase. If you're looking for a good electric kettle and are worried about price or quality, look no further, the EKG is top notch and worth it.

This kettle purchase was just not for the design and temperature accuracy, but for the asthetics as well. With it's modern, sleek look, black finish and beautiful wood handle; the Stag found a permanant place on my kitchen countertop.

My Brew Station's New Faberge Egg

A very nice pour-over kettle. Expensive? Yes. Performance-wise, my research told me it compares favorably, but doesn't significantly outpace, other products in its genre. It heats the water quickly, keeps it at temp and has a nice balance and pour rate. But why did I pay a premium for it? Well, the design had me back at "hello". The nuclear cooling tower shape is classically superb design, and the wooden components are gorgeous artifacts to wake up to in the morning. If I'm going to surround myself with gadgets that I use every day, they'd better be beautiful and this item is up there with the other ridiculously expensive coffee making gadgets I own. A minor nit: I had trouble getting the base to switch on at first. I would have to press the button several times before the display would come on. Perhaps I was pressing it for too long, I don't know for sure, but I now have no problems with it. A quick touch and it's on. Aside from that, I'm delighted with my new kettle. It has replaced my Faberge eggs (JK).
