Nice kettle - but needs improvements

The first thing I noticed about this kettle when unpacking was the outgassing smell from the plastic heating base. I was hoping it would subside however its been a few months and every time I use it, I smell the scent. Hope its not cancer causing!
Flaws aside, the kettle design is nice. It pours very nicely for pour over coffee. The constant heating element is nice feature.

An elegant addition to the kitchen.

My new Stagg EKG kettle works as good as it looks and it looks SPECTACULAR. The deep matte blue contrasted by the walnut colored handle is a very attractive addition to my kitchen.
The kettle brings/rushes water to a boil much faster than my stove does so I believe it is actually SAVING me money on the utility cost to boil my coffee water 365 times a year.
It's a no brainer. Just buy it if you are on the fence deciding if it's worth the money. I can tell you that it is.

we have the oridignal stagg kettle and have loved it, we just upgraded to the electric kettle and am amazed at how quickly the water heats!

looks great and incorporation of timer/temperature control is great, but the actual function is not so great. On/Off button sticks (doesn't always turn on or off when pressed) .

I started experimenting with hand grinding my own coffee beans & using the pour-over method. This Kettle is perfect for me. You can make such an accurate pour & time things right where it's not too bitter & not to sour, all by controlling the rate of pour. Excellent.
