Love my clips

A great addition to my Peak Design gear. I typically hold my camera with a hand strap, avoid someone trying to rip it off me. The Capture Clip offers hands free, yet secures the camera in a manner that discourages theft.

Sports/event photographer here. I use this thing religiously on site. It definitely makes things easier to hold and handle. Locks tight and would recommend to anyone. Also, had a small issue with my copy and customer service was top notch and took care of me ASAP.

genius design, makes it very easy to use, yet durable and safe for the camera as well as it is almost not sensible while attached to the shoulder strap of the backpack. A must product for photographers who hike

The must-have accessory you never knew you needed

After seeing hundreds of reviews on this capture clip, I decided to finally pull the trigger. By adding this to my backpack, it has made carrying around my camera so much easier. I have it clipped to my Manfrotto Windsor backpack and fits very well. It was a little confusing how to get it clipped in the first place but after watching a few videos, I was able to figure it out. I went with the silver one because I just thought it looked sleeker than the black one, plus everyone has the black one. They're both slick and both are a great addition to any photographer's kit.

Exactly what you're hoping for!

I bought the Clip, and POV Kit for my GoPro camera.
It has all the adjustability you'll ever need for POV video work. The mount is very solid and the camera doesn't jiggle at all which makes the GoPro's image stabilization really shine. This is exactly the solution I was looking for, and it works just like you hope it will. Thank you PD!

Great (with possible improvements)

I bought this clip and used extensively on a 10 day photo tour of Iceland. It was used with three different cameras and two different backpacks. I am writing this review in Reykjavik waiting for the bus to take me to the airport. My thoughts:
The good: It was great to be able to shoot with two cameras and switch back and for so easily. I never had to change lenses in the field, with wind rain and sand prevalent. It is much more secure than any strap system I have tried.
Note that it works much better with a backpack with a chest strap. Without a sternal strap I found inserting and removing the camera to be tricky, with the strap it is much easier.
Could be better: the plates tend to loosen if they are attached to a L-bracket. I needed to tighten them several times a day, but this issue was rarely present if the plate was attached to the base of the camera. I think this is because the area of contact with the plate is much smaller with the bracket. I would suggest that Peak Design make a longer plate that would span both sides of the bracket. You would lose the four way insertion option of the square plate, but as the camera is almost always pointed lens down that is a small price to pay for extra stability. I would be happy to test a prototype!
