After my camera gear itself, the Capture clip is far and away the most important piece of travel gear I own. By attaching the clip to my backpack strap, I have my camera out of hands, accessible, and securely fashioned to my body, allowing me to use both hands for whatever purpose, then have my camera back in hand with a push of the clip's button. In the past three days I did two 10-mile hikes in Colorado, caught a few hundred great photos, and did it all while having my camera both there and out of hand. An absolutely essential tool.

The CLIP as a Quick Connect to the STRAP

Warning... This is my experiment and not an intended use case for the Capture Clip. It is working well for me. Just passing this along.
This is my third capture clip. One for my backpack, another for my belt, both of them using the ProPad. For this one I wanted to have it as a quick connect to the Slide Strap. I used two nylon spacers along with the PD Anchors so that when I put on the strap I could use the CLIP to connect to the camera and not ever have any Anchors flopping around on my A7cii camera when I was not using a strap. The Anchor Loops pivot around the spacers and are not crushed by the Capture Clip. Of course, this means that I carry the camera with the strap attached to the bottom, which is what I prefer. I was careful to size the spacers properly as well as tighten the Clip so to ensure nothing ever comes loose. I know this was not the intended way to use these products, but it works perfectly for me. I have tightened the bolts on the Clip a few times as I am making sure nothing slips. I'll tweak the torque on the bolts until it no longer needs tightening. Maybe PD can engineer something to do something similar to what I have here. I do like how I can put on the strap and then clip on the camera and not have anchors remain on my camera when not using the strap. I hope this makes sense.

This thing is amazing!

I bought this to replace another capture clip from a Chinese seller. This one is MUCH better. I really like the feature that allows you to lock the plate into the clip. One thing I'm not really a fan of is the strap width is smaller than the strap on my camera bag, so the straps of the bag get a little torn up. Overall, an amazing, innovative product.

The camera clip is amazing. I used it on a 3 day hike and even though my shoulders were sore from the heavy pack and Canon 5D MIII with 16-35mm lens but having the fredom to keep both my hands on my poles helped me move through the hike with ease and keeping the camera on my shoulder clip allowed me to take quick pictures without having to unstrap my pack, pull out the camera, take the pick and then repack the camera in my pack. I'll never go on another hike without it again.

Great Customer Service

I wasn't disappointed by this clip and am getting a ton of use out of it. Unfortunately, with me using it all the time attached to my bag with the larger screws, I lost one of the screws. Given that I was using that bag all the time, I should have attached the clip with the semi-permanent screws instead, as was advised. Fortunately, there's a warranty and I was able to file a claim with no problem whatsoever. The warranty process was so easy. Peak Design sent me a brand new screw set with no further questions asked. It's fantastic knowing you have a great team behind a great product.

Great as always

Recently added a second Capture clip and a Por Pad to my camera backpack. The Capture Clip and Pro Pad are great together and help better distribute the weight of my camera and lenses. Beware of the knockoffs of these devices.
A camera buddy of mine had the clip he bought from a Facebook ad. While we were hiking on a fairly good trail, his knockoff clip disconnected and sent his camera in a freefall. Luckily, he had the camera strap around his neck and it caught the camera before hitting the ground. I loaned him my 2nd Capture Clip for the rest of the hike. Thanks for the great products. Ron

Capture Clip and Lens Kit

I got the capture clip with the lens kit and its super handy! It's a little hard to install onto my backpack strap, maybe because the strap is a little thick (it seemed like a standard size to me). Once it was on though, it felt very secure. I take photos and video for a parks department so being able to change a lens easily is so helpful, especially on dirty and snowy trails!

Soooo practical

This product is a game changer for me! I use it all the time when hiking, it prevents the camera from bumping at my hips if I used a sling and at the same time, very easy to grab the camera and be ready to shoot.
Pros: just so practical, can adapt to many bags, even some with thick shoulder strap. Can even handle some heavier gear with the pro pad (I tried using it a lumix gx9 and a big and a telephoto lense, works great) Cons: none that I could find
Conclusion: definitely recommend it for hiking or street photography
