A powerhouse on pet hair, but lots of small flaws

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like our last Bissell that was a workhorse on pet hair for many years longer than it really should have lasted, this vacuum is great on picking up pet hair. However, there are alot of little flaws in it. 1. There's no secondary handle, so you have to lift it up the stairs with 1 hand. On this one, when you lift partially on the cannister it pops right off. This vacuum is not super heavy, but it's not light either, especially having to lift it with one hand. 2. The cord rubber is super thin. If you accidentally run over the cord it gets shredded. I don't make this a habit, but it happens, this was never an issue with my Shark upright. 3. The clip for the extender doesn't keep it in place. It always falls off and then when you need it you have to go back through the house to see where it fell off. 4. The Turbo Erase Pet attachment won't work on dog beds. No matter what setting, the brush stops working when you try to use it on a dog bed. All but #1 were an issue wit our former Bissell as well. I was hoping it was a fluke with that model but it wasn't. I love how much Bisselll supports shelter pets, which is why I went with another one, all other things being equal, but might not again when this one needs to be replaced. Overall it is a great vacuum for the price, these little things are just really irritating.

Not exactly lightweight but isnt heavy either. I vacuum my carpets regularly and just switched from a Dirt Devil. I used this once and was amazed and disgusted by how much dirt this vacuum picked up after cleaning with the DD yesterday! It has strong suction and the edge to edge cleaning is amazing!

Cheaply made but inexpensive

My Shark Rocket broke after many years of use so I started doing my research on purchasing another vacuum. I currently have 7 pets. 4 cats and 3 dogs so I wanted something with stellar reviews for pet hair with a lot of good attachments for upholstery. I was extremely disappointed! The attachments are cheap. Do not work as intended. The hose for said attachments is way too short causing the vacuum to tip over with just normal use. Power cord is extremely short as well. Having multiple types of flooring in my home, it takes a ton of adjusting for each type of flooring and barely works without a sore arm on the semi-high pile carpet in our upstairs. Works well on the hardwood and tile but as far as the rugs and carpet go, hard no. Wanted this vacuum to work for us. I'm very sad it doesn't and there's no way to return it after I've used it. Like I said, 7 pets... that's a lot to clean up even after one use. :(
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love the retractable cord. Large sweeper that's light weight, this sweeper is the one. Great for corners, hose is very nice as well, for going up high for seiling fan. Hose needs to be glued a little better to the plastic insert. But a great sweeper for suction
