After nearly 9 years living with carpeting throughout the house and with only one cat, a different brand-name vacuum just wasn't making our carpeting look any better. In addition, the labor intensive job of using that particular machine was a chore that was cumbersome. My husband and I recently watched a TV ad for Bissell's pet hair removal vacuum and knew we had to try Bissell. Our purchase is a Cleanview Swivel Rewind Pet vacuum cleaner model 2739, which is very similar to model 2256. We are totally shocked to see our living room took two full dumpings of the cleanview container, then one full container for each of the other rooms. The pet hair and dirt that the Bissell extracted are disgusting to see that we've been living with this for so many years!!! The Bissell brought up the nap of the old carpeting and makes it appear so much brighter and fuller! The Bissell is much quieter and takes less effort to vacuum than the competition. My only caution is to say the Bissell has such good suction that you should consider raising the height adjustment (easy with the dial) to its highest setting when coming across the seams of a carpet to avoid pulling it loose. The automatic cord rewind saves time and energy as I used it to rewind every time I moved from one room to the other - what an awesome concept! Their easy-to-dump cleanview container is the best invention ever! Last but not least, we are so thankful that Bissell has the donation program for the Bissell Pet Foundation for homeless pets. Thank you Bissell employees for your awesome product and pet charity work!

It's a very heavy and bulky vacuum. The suction is great. The attachment for pet hair is very small. The cord isn't very long either. I had two sharks previously and I'm still not sure I'm going to keep this vacuum.

It is hard to move. Regardless of height to carpet pile, it just requires more strength of the user. Does not glide around.

The swivel feature is great, and it feels lightweight when used which is important to me because I have some neck/back problems. There is nothing complicated about it the vacuum. My sons, (8 & 12yo), can both use it easily.
