I would recommend this vacuum for pet owners

This vacuum was much easier to run over my Medium Shag area rug and still got pet hair out. I did run it over my other Higher Shag area rug and it was more challenging, even with the vacuum as high as it would go. I have a lot of pet hair and I know this vacuum did a super job picking up the dog hair, when I ran the carpet shampoo'er on the carpet and it did not leave any piles of dog hair behind. Does great on hard wood floors and love the little brushes on the side of the rollers that really get the dirt and hair from the baseboards. This eliminated having to use the attachments to do it.

Great Suction

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very impressed with the suction of this machine. It did an incredible job on my carpets. My previous machine was a Shark and on carpets I would choose this one any day. However, I was not as impressed with it's performance on hardwood and tile. My Shark had a separate attachment for hardwoods and I prefer that. I had to go VERY slowly over the hard surfaces and go over each area a few times to get everything. It did not scatter the debris though so that was impressive. I really like that all the attachments have a place on the Bissell. It is such a pain to keep up with them but each one of them has a spot on this cleaner so they are always within reach. The swivel head is really nice and helped me to maneuver around very easily. It was a little hard to push over the carpet so it may not be for everyone. My Shark was more self propelled and I did not realize what a difference that makes! Another thing I was not thrilled with, is we had to assemble it with two screws. Not a huge deal, just something I found a little annoying. I wasn't aware of this machine before I tried it but I would definitely buy it again for carpets. For hardwoods I would probably go with something else but that is probably because I am very picky about this. I have tried so many things for cleaning my hardwoods. I will say though, for an upright it does a pretty good job.

I have had a shark vacuum for years and I just got this to have a second vacuum for my upstairs and I was very pleased on how it swivels and how light it is to run. I have only one downfall to the vacuum, I wished that the cord was longer. I do love the button on there to retract the power cord. I have a Siberian husky and he sheds a lot of fur, and this vacuum had no problem picking up all the unwanted fur. I am now using this cleaner on my main level and put the shark vacuum upstairs. Bissell has great products and I am very please with this purchase. I only gave 4 stars because of the cord not being long enough, but other than that it was great.
