Not long hair friendly - would not recommend

I travel frequently and purchases the Afar for an international trip. The size and travel bag are nice. The issue is with the back side of the hair dryer. I have long, thick hair, and every time I use this dryer, the ends of my hair get caught, sucked in, and singed into knots. It happens in seconds. The dryer also loses some strength in power every time that happens. I thought the issue might go away with the diffuser, but the issue was just as bad, if not worse. If you have a full sized dryer/diffuser you love, my advice would be to make the extra room to travel with that set. The back of this dryer sucked in and damaged my hair, and that makes it unusable for me.

I bought this specifically for our trip to Ireland. Having never been to Europe before, I wanted to ensure I had a dryer that worked for me given that I would be staying in some Airbnbs. I read the reviews and returned from 10 days abroad yesterday. The dryer worked like a charm! I carried only an inexpensive Amazon plug converter for Ireland and the Afar switched to the correct voltage as promised. Some reviews indicated the heat was low, this is true in the US, but when used in Ireland, I found the lowest heat setting in Europe was akin to the highest heat setting in the US, which made sense. It traveled well, packed easily, the carrying case was elegant. I would recommend to anyone traveling and well worth the money spent.

This has all the features of my T3 Featherweight dryer, but a little less power. However, it did dry and style my hair. My hair is mid-length and fairly thick, and I have never been able to effectively dry and style it with a travel dryer before this, so definitely it's a keeper.
