I bought two of these as an upgrade for my My Cloud Expert Series EX2 Ultra. I was a tad bit worried seeing to reviews of poor packaging but these came extremely well packed, so I guess they have fixed that. I swapped them out one at a time and the raid rebuild only took a few hours for each drive, and went without a hitch. Very pleased so far.

The HDs are noisy. I was expected a silent ones for a NAS quality.

We recommend connecting the drive as secondary storage via SATA port to the computer, to test the health of the drive using Western Digital Dashboard for Windows.

If the test is unfortunately inconclusive and you just purchased the drive then you should be able to return it to the place of purchase. However, if you are past their return policy, you can create an RMA through WD and replace the drive under warranty if necessary.

After Western Digital helped us order the exact right drives, they have worked flawlessly in our new Synology NAS! Before contacting Western Digital, we had ordered two other sets of drives the were the incorrect drives for our use.
