I bought this to stick on a cheap android phone I bought to serve as a GPS navigation screen on my motorcycle for a trip out west. I was seriously impressed that the adhesive stood up to some seriously high temps, a lot of bumpy roads, and around 1600 miles of riding over 9 days. I can’t speak for its longevity after that amount of abuse but it served me very well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I use it for the motorcycle mount and it works good. To be honest I'm scared in case it detaches from the case, but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen.

Strong magnet but weak adhesive

The magnet is very strong and secure! However, the adhesive (that sticks the adapter to the wall/surface) has come off the surface a few times.

Otterbox Defender retrofit

My wife needs a more protective case than the Peak Design provides but I wanted to move to PD vent-mount phone holder. By carefully cutting a matching hole in the back of the rubber outer case I was able to attach the “universal” phone mount to a compatible surface. Note: you keep using that word (universal). I do not think it means what you think it means. This retrofit works great and almost looks like it was designed this way!

One of the better systems but...

The entire system is very clever and works for better than any other system I've seen, but it isn't without its issues. The foot print of the plate is large, too large to be centers on an S22 Ultra. The other issue arises from the magnet affect things like internal S-pens from being properly detected. Then there's the fact that the magnets aren't strong enough to be used a bare metal surface meaning you'll need a wall mount to use it on a wall. Then of course the biggest issue is the single use design. It is possible to use a glue for a second use but the fact it's a single use application for the cost is a bit much.
For the prices being paid there are quite a few short comings or issues to be aware of, that are there by choice.
Like I said it's a good system, but flawed for fee.

How to combine universal adapter with your case

As there is no case for my Sony Xperia Pro-I I just cut a hole in my case to fit the universal adapter in to it. So my case is as slim as the one for an iPhone. I works great.

I bought this to convert a phone to a dedicated dirt biking computer, haven't had the chance to go for a ride yet but it does feel sturdy and the magnets are pretty strong.

This Adapter can strong adhesion.I cant pull off adapter.
But if PD sell Xperia series or IphoneSE case I buy it!
